Poor performance. Hope we reached the bottom yesterday, otherwise things will get messy soon. We can’t expect to improve performance if the so-called competition for starting eleven only means switching Gordon with McNeil. I wish Lampard focuses more on mentality and quickly change any player that does not look like bothered when team is not winning. It can only get better with authenthic attitude, quality comes after

Given the current squad, I’m kind of confused on people’s expectations on where we should be on the table. I think we can all agree there would be a learning curve with Frank and I’m not saying he is perfect by any means, but these players haven’t been doing him any favors.
True enough, John. But his problem is they are, largely, "his" players. This is his team now. Frank's problem now is that soon enough people will start to see that it is HIS performance that should come under scrutiny. Up to now, it's been the club, the owner, Benitez, the players, yadda yadda, etc. But at some point, if you are worth appointing, you need to justify your existence. Frank's treading water right now.

Pressure right back on him again now to get a couple of wins against Bournemouth.

When your as crap as we are, your only ever one game away from another crisis. Yesterday was about the 3rd time this season we've had the chance to give ourselves a bit of breathing space, get into the top 10 (psychologically I think would be a huge boost for thr fanbase as well as the players) and we absolutely chuck in a nothing performance lacking any kind of belief, desire intensity and willingness to really dig in and do the dirty work.

I know last season wasn`t all Lampard but this season we have a worse Points Per Game ration and worse win percentage, on the plus side our lose percentage is down and we will be on course to finish with a better GD BUT its all about the points and if we go as we are another we will finish with another sub 40 points total.

He has played a role and a big one in the summer window. He made a calculated choice to go in the season without a significant upgrade in attack knowing very early on that richy was leaving and that there was a big unknown on dcl fitness as essentially out for most of last season. Frank has to own up that squad and if that squad is not good enough then he is also to blame. I would give him the next 2 games...lose those 2 games, which I think will happen, then a decision has to be made now...either take a gamble for the rest of the season or change approach and get a new manager.

I do agree, like any profession, people have to answer for what is going on under their watch. Do you think it is worth letting him have another window or two?

I don’t really buy that, I think there’s a lot more that goes on behind the scenes that put us in this position. I’m sure Frank would have loved more depth upfront or someone of better quality, but he’s not the only one pulling the strings.

Just seen his post match statement on Sky. He is totally unreal in his assessment of his teams display. He described positives. There were none Frank. This is Everton not Crewe Alex. Not his fault? Gutless, terrible shameful performance. A refund is appropriate for those who paid to watch this disgraceful insulting display.

This point last season we were on a streak of picking up 1 point in 7 games, losing 6 back to back, collapsing in a few of them.

I can't see that happening with this side as it's more resilient, it won't go on those runs.
We're 1 draw away from matching the whole of last season for example.

He prioritised the small amount money we had for the midfield...onana and Garner alone that's a lot of money spent. Whilst I like the look of both of them for the future, we needed someone for the now so that we don't end up in a relegation battle. He took a gamble as of the rest of the board...and that gamble is not paying off. We could easily have got jao pedro and/or brereton which would have been a different proposition going forward and better options off the bench that we currently have.

It would be very interesting to know the tone of this thread bad we even came away with a point. This forum seems to overreact, like with any teams supporters, but I think people would be pretty pleased. I know we will never know but hindsight is 20/20z

I am torn. I don't rate him as a manager and wouldn't have appointed him - but he is in the job so the club needs to own that decision, back their managers, and stop using them as human shields. So, I wouldn't sack him. I think that would be grotesquely unfair. But I have no confidence that he'll significantly improve us, either. Would I give him the window? I would - but he can't really complain too much if Moshiri doesn't if he loses against Bournemouth.
