2022/23 Frank Lampard

Way too simplistic view that. Our defence is under constant pressure because the ball isn’t sticking in the final third and just keeps coming right back at us. The balance of the team is wrong and everyone knows it but Lampard/Thelwell did try to address it in the summer. A slotter and an intelligent wide forward to link with Iwobi in January and we will be OK.
I mean this is the crux of the matter, and has been for sometime. Not just under Lampard but even the fat mess last year.

The outlets up top are so underwhelming that it allows defenders to step and bypass any press we have. Their defenders always pick up the second ball and then we are overrun

Because I see absolutely no reason to start Michael Keane. We have six CBs, he's the worst of them all and is being pushed out of the club in January.

Don't have any issue with him going to a three as such, but keep one bit of stability in there from the main starting defence.

Hes given the fringe players a chance.

Theyve shown they arent good enough and embarassed themselves.

He now has leverage with Thelwell and the board to point at that performance and ask for them to be sold + funds made available to replace them.

Its right before the world cup break which gives time for the wheels to turn on the transfer front and looking at the quote below it appears as though hes done with alot of them.

Some won't have that. They're looking at the doomsday scenario that we'll start conceding 3 a game at some point very soon.

Goals change games.

Our problem is the inability to attract players to our club that are better than what we have. Thelwell, as his predecessors, has fallen short with panic buys near the end of the window. We had 35m to play with which could've bought a decent winger or striker. But no, we opted for second rate garbage in Mcneil and Maupay. Those type of signings will get you relegated! It was hoped Lampard would be able to attract the best young talent as he is a legend premiership midfielder. We hoped he would attract some of the best of the Chelsea youngsters due to his past relationship with them. None of this has happened. At a club like ours you need a manager with a name to attract a better quality of player. Everton have branded themselves as a desperate club that scares away decent footballers.

Youve reference Maupay and McNeil.

How about Tarkowski, Coady, Garner and Onana who he brought in over European competition West Ham and Moyes...who was pulled away from the lure of London?

Hes a big pull for players.

There is no one to blame for what happenned last night other than Frank Lampard

I don't feel any differently this morning. He had a lot of goodwill coming his way and undid all that in one night with such a disrespectful team selection. I've lost all faith in him because he clearly doesn't understand what's required to manage this club. It's not even a high bar - just set up an organised, hardworking team and always try your best to be competitive.

He picked a side that had ZERO chance of winning away at top flight opposition. He decided that the next game is not the most important game, so if he doesn't win on Saturday, then he needs to go. It's absolutely inexcusable what happenned and to try and blame players we already knew were not fit to wear the shirt, doesn't wash at all. He's the only reason they were on the field in the first place.

it is but we’ve got one f n striker lad

stop pretending it’s not 95% of the issue

Bournemouth had Jamal Lowe up front last.

Jamal Lowe.

Frank got bested by a caretaker manager who has never managed before.

But, he needs more time before he can compete against the likes of mighty Bournemouth and experienced managers of the ilk of Gary O'Neill.

I agree he is a big pull, but it's also why a lot of our fans are taken in by him.
If a less attractive named manager was giving us performances like last night, Fulham, Newcastle and Leicester, there would be full scale demonstrations.

Jesus.
Surely he didn't need that to learn what we all have already learned many times.
If he did , then why ?
Most thought Mr Iwobi was a none starter, look at him now, one of the first names on the team sheet.

Nobody knows what Frank may have been looking for.

Sure, we are all disappointed at another showing like that, but in my opinion, better last night than a vital league game.

Players can change attitude and become a team player, yet again, look at Iwobi

Having said all that, fans are angry/frustrated and turning on Frank. I feel a win or maybe I should say not a loss on Saturday is vital for his future at EFC.

The sad thing though.

Bournemouth will have more rested players for the weekend game.

At least 4 of our players who started last night will be starting on Saturday, while Bournemouth at most will have 2.

Not just a cartaker manager, he is on Lutons radar, Bournemouth don't even fancy him.
