2022/23 Frank Lampard

Not sure who Lampard is trying to kid with these post match comments. Every Evertonian knows that the players he picked are, virtually to a man, monstrous wastrels. They always have been and always will be. The club is actively seeking to move most of them on, he's under no obligation at all to play any of them no matter how loudly they knock on his door, which I doubt too many of them are anyway as they know their fates are sealed.

He prioritised one game over another, got a larger than expected beating and is now looking to deflect. He's piled enormous pressure on himself before a game he can ill afford to lose.

I truly hope for Lampard's sake that the regulars come back in against Bournemouth and bail him out. I would hate to see Lampard taken out at this moment, partly because he definitely has unfinished business and I'd like to see him have another transfer window or two, and also because Roberto Martinez is safe as houses to replace him if he goes and time apart has certainly not made my heart grow fonder.

How fitting it would be if the man who started us on the path of learning to live in fear of our premiership lives was the one to come back and put us out of our misery. Poetry.

Fond memories of fans chasing out the worlds most decorated manager

The fact he had that team top 5-6 for the majority of the season is an absolute miracle.

But a lot of fans felt he failed and should've done more.

It's why I'm trying to not take these Lampard Out shouts seriously. We've tried everything in the book for nearly a decade and achieved zero apart from not giving a manager longer than 18 months.

I think some of his comments last night hung the players out to dry a bit. Could very easily divide the dressing room with comments like that.

We were awful, but he made 11 changes and switched to a completely different formation - not sure what he was expecting.

Players some easy chances? Not to fall over or give the ball away in our box?

Basics of football really.

Like he said in the interview... there'll be a time they'll be needed so they need minutes.

he was expecting micheal keane to try and prove himself he didn’t and lampard has said it how it is

Very good defenders don't allow the most shots in the league
Way too simplistic view that. Our defence is under constant pressure because the ball isn’t sticking in the final third and just keeps coming right back at us. The balance of the team is wrong and everyone knows it but Lampard/Thelwell did try to address it in the summer. A slotter and an intelligent wide forward to link with Iwobi in January and we will be OK.

Our problem is the inability to attract players to our club that are better than what we have. Thelwell, as his predecessors, has fallen short with panic buys near the end of the window. We had 35m to play with which could've bought a decent winger or striker. But no, we opted for second rate garbage in Mcneil and Maupay. Those type of signings will get you relegated! It was hoped Lampard would be able to attract the best young talent as he is a legend premiership midfielder. We hoped he would attract some of the best of the Chelsea youngsters due to his past relationship with them. None of this has happened. At a club like ours you need a manager with a name to attract a better quality of player. Everton have branded themselves as a desperate club that scares away decent footballers.
