After Coleman loses the ball on the halfway line, count how many Everton players the ball had to travel past to get to Sidwell...it's erm...a lot.

Dont join your manager in a bit of shameless scapegoating designed to hide his own inadequacies at seeing a game out.

This.

FFS there must have been six men behind him when he lost the ball.

Indeed he should have.

So there was no reason it should have resulted in a Fulhan goal if we had an many as nine men behind him when he failed to do so.

Still fuming/disappointed

This was my initial reaction, but then I realised how well we actually played; I think it was the best I've ever seen Everton play in my life. We were just superb; it's beautiful seeing the right hand side of our team terrorize a defence.

When I saw we were having 5 at the back, I did think well that will stop the crosses coming in from the flanks...
That 2nd goal was a combination of poor elements in different areas of the pitch and is something that Everton need to work on.

I really looking forward to next weeks matches. TBH; we will win against Sunderland and Tottenham will loose against City. Then we have a nice gap to fifth place, Yeah!

Maybe i'm getting vertigo from being so high up the table but i'd like Man City to drop points so we could catch up.

Yeah, I think you right lad, but if we get the fourth place with less pressure I do belive even more nice things will happends.COYB!!

Having more people back does not necessarily mean you've got a better chance of not conceding.

It's a simplistic mentality and will often work against you, giving the opposition momentum and actually hindering organisation at the back. Players aren't sure who to mark, and things become more frantic and desperate.

That said, Coleman was pretty bloody daft yesterday. Just get it away.

Hindsight is a great thing. But Coleman had a decent game apart from his glaring error. But why when he intercepted that pass did he run into fulham players that were congested in the centre of the pitch? Why didn't he just chip the ball into the channels to relieve the pressure.

Inexperience.

He made a mistake. If given the chance he'll learn from it.

Yup, learning pains. But what encourages me is his ability to bomb forward from the right. His crossing game also appears to have hit the next level of late, I don't know if that's because he's picking up speed heading into hitting the cross, or just a different mindset, but they are definitely better.

I'm really encouraged by him and think the move to RB made a ton of sense. I'm also super glad that Moyes has stuck by him in the face of the errors instead of hitting the eject button. Seamus doesn't appear to shirk his responsibility afterwards, and he doesn't get super nervous. That bodes well for him.

Really really encouraged, can't say that enough.
