so, simple question? those that cant have the vaccine for medical reasons are just supposed to stop their lives yeah?

and this is acceptable to you?

when did we become such a selfish world?
People who can't have the vaccine for medical reasons need to be protected not thrown into a scenario where they can catch the virus which they can then spread to others.

None of this "stops" their lives. It just makes their lives different. If there are provisions to still have them in the ground whilst keeping everybody safe then great. It's no different than having someone sit away from other people in work because of it.

When did this world become so unable to adapt to stuff?

Fair points

Not being able to attend large-scale sporting events = stopping your life? Righto, didn't know that. Maybe we can organise some way for people in that situation to remotely view said events from the comfort of their own home, using some newfangled technology. Hopefully Elon Musk can invent something.

Who's talking about those who can't have the vaccine for medical reasons? Not me.

I'm talking about the anti-vaxxers, the conspiracy theorists, the Covid-deniers.
But clearly it wasnt directed at those, it was about Goodison being vaccinated attendees only.

the vaccinated still spread catch and die from it, so where do we go from there.

Eventually it will lead to no=one being able to attend anything outside of their "bubble" totally unacceptable way of living, with or without the vaccine and with or without covid/vaccine deniers as it will be ALL

The announcement about football stadia capacity is rendered almost totally moot by the fact that from July 20th, the tens of thousands of people who have refused to vaccinate, refused to socially distance, refused to quarantine, refused to isolate or to wear masks are all going to pile on to planes and fly to dozens of overcrowded holiday destinations, increase transmission rates amongst themselves and then return to the UK and proceed to spread it again.

We have a nation of people who claim to not know what to do unless the Government tells them what to do. When the Government tells them what to do, the people claim not to understand the instructions. When the instructions are explained, the people demand exemptions. When it's explained that exemptions will prolong the scenario, the people claim the scientists are lying. When the scientists are proved correct (after the event, when infection rates rise) the people blame the Government for not telling them what to do.

I am happy to continue minimising my contact with the majority of society.
but you have to have a negative test to return to the uk!
even after 19 july, its 2 tests,so i dont know who these people are spreading it around!
they wont let you on the plane without one,iv just comeback from spain!

I found last season to be a asterix of a season.

To me that was not authentic football without fans, Var was heavily minipulated, refs were atrocious knowing they were no fans at the grounds.

For me 20-21 football season didn't exist.

To much fearmongering in this thread, people who don't want the season to start, maybe it has something to do with whats happening at the club right now and how far behind we are on and off the pitch of other teams, but we can only improve if we have our finances 100% and fans back in the ground driving us on.

Oh aye

The vaccine companies themselves. It only reduces symptoms, I thought this was common knowledge.
I know you can still get it but believed it also offered some protection against receiving it. Can you link me to this claim? Where do the vaccine company's themselves say it only reduces symptoms

This is a thread (and the OP @Sassy Colombian will correct me if I'm wrong) to stimulate debate on the balance of the pleasure of match attendance and the possibility hesitancy of doing that due to its ramifications.

If you dont like the thread's intentions, leave it one side.
That's exactly the purpose of this thread. I believe it's important for all of us to be having these types of conversations and discussions so we can become aware what's everyone’s feelings as our governments continue moving forward with the dismissal of Covid restrictions at a time that the Delta strain seems to be spreading vastly specially among unvaccinated communities.

Just as capable of getting it? Source?
You do know that the Government and NIH, CDC WHO etc etc release weekly bulletins with all this information, including efficacy of the vaccine, including figures of those who have passed after having double dose?

It's all readily available information on .gov Web pages.

It's that simple

Yes and all sources show majority of people getting it are still unvaccinated so blindly stating unvaccinated are getting it as much as vaccinated is a lie
