GAA 2022

He did throw a dig but it was part of a melee where for Armagh, Sheridan (connected a few times) and Hall (attempted) also were involved after Murphy said something to Hall and swung, big size difference (even hinted at on the Sunday game as a flashpoint), McBrearty and another Donegal man were swinging in that as well.
To pick only one out of that after suspensions have already been issued is very nefarious, have little respect for Donegal now, if they wish to be like that I'd start 5 thugs and cripple their season.
We have all seen the video footage of the Donegal player trying to head butt Rian before he swings a hand out (not a punch for me). McMenamin also head butts Murnin but again he isn’t sanctioned.

How this has all been ignored is just creating a rod for the GAA’s own back.

Meanwhile rs Cresswell gets a flipping yellow for a kick in the head. If that was a Dub in GAA it would be a 6 month ban. Different codes, I know, but same incompetence from officials.

Sorry for you mate. Mind you they usually hammer Dublin for any indiscipline.

The two soft yellows against Ryan O Dwyer in 2013 saw us miss out on an appearance in the SH final. We were in control over Cork before that whistle happy Wexford ref changed the game completely. We were seriously on the verge of breaking through.

Just read a Munster contemporaneous report which described both cards as marginal

The team fell apart after that. Looking better this year thankfully.

Don't get me started on 1983, but our 12 apostles prevailed over a snide Galway in the SF Final. We were soaked on the Hill. I don't know how no one was seriously hurt or crushed. Last time you could walk up and pay to get into an All Ireland.
I never watched that 1983 all Ireland final, but the general consensus seems to be that Dublin were the aggressors. Maybe i need to have an actual look at that final though, and i might have a very different view on things.

Of course the Dubs needed a last second goal from Barney Rock, to get a draw with Cork in the semi final that year. Then they beat Cork pretty comprehensively in Cork in the replay.

The Dubs do seem to enjoy the few occasions when they are taken out of Croke Park. There was the two Kerry games in Thurles in 2001 as well. Kerry needing that epic point from Maurice Fitzgerald, to escape with the draw the first day.

Galway were engaging in sledging throughout. Sadly Duff and Mullins reacted and got reds. After Mullins got his red he leaned down to Talty who apparently smirked at him. This led to the "tunnel incident" at HT.

Dubs still prevailed. Mayo need to concentrate on football, not acting the maggot.

I like Mayo and i wouldn't begrudge them an all Ireland, but i think Lee Keegan is bit of a muppet tbh.

Always loved Kerry fans. Meath and Dubs came to respect each other after the incredible 4 matches in 91.I remember being so exhausted when we lost in the last minute of the 4th game just hugging a Meath fan who was beside me.

The most hostile atmosphere I ever encountered in all my years following football was against Mayo a few years ago. Unfortunate, because I have some really good mates from Mayo. However, it was really nasty.

2006 or 2012? lol

It was poorly handled by the GAA, a shot across the bow of anyone appealing.
It definitely gives the impression that Armagh were punished for daring to appeal and while I don’t think that’s the case, it is all about perception.

I have a good mate involved in the Tyrone management camp and he gave me a good insight. While appealing their reds v Armagh, they used video evidence of our players committing alleged similar misdemeanours in the melee and asked why it was different from their cited player. HQ refused to even acknowledge this line and stuck to the mantra that the appeal was only about their own specific player and what they had done.

I mean, where do you even start with that approach?

Im not sure mate, may not specifically be prejudice around Armagh, but a shot across the bow in general around appealing and possible consequences - all the same won’t have helped your preparation a week out.

The GAA are sometimes a law onto themselves, it presents as a democracy but often duress appplied, the shenanigans that go on at congress, back of the room deals, without question more counties hold sway in disciplinary matters for commercial, marketing, publicity and profile reasons for the GAA.
