While we are watching our beloved Blues from behind the sofa, some very tasty fixtures today.

Hurling

Galway v Kilkenny
Laois v Wexford
Westmeath v Dublin
Cork v Clare

Football

Derry v Tyrone
Meath v Wicklow
Kildare v Louth

Wexford absolutely destroying Laois. Dubs only ahead by 2 against Westmeath. Galway by a point against Kilkenny

In Ulster Derry having a great start 1-8 to 0-4 at HT and Tyrone down to 14.

Hard to see Tyrone coming back but you never know

Great day for Everton, and a bad day for Cork but that's the way it is. I'd like to see Pat Ryan given the senior managers job, and just give him a few years to build a team, and get the physical conditioning right. Cork players can't win a dirty ball to save their lives.

Well, not going to get carried away but that is the first convincing performance since Jim Gavin stepped down. Hopefully we have recovered our mojo

I want to see another two on the trot before I feel confident a Chara. Con was incredible though, 9 from play, you can keep your Clifford’s, he’s gash at Hurling too! lol

Maybe just maybe we’re coming in under the radar as mad as that sounds. We were moving well.

It’s going to be some chamionship after the provincials, Armagh, Tyrone, Mayo all in the qualifiers already, it’s going to be some rats nest, but make for some unbelievable quarters.

Coming out of the qualifiers the way its panning out in football can see whoever emerges to the quarters being sharp and on a roll which I reckon is bad for 2/3 out of the 4 provincial champions who won't have much opposition on the way especially the Dubs.
As a Clare man delighted at our resurgence but it is sad how the old guard of Tipp and Cork have declined. Munster hurling hasn't been the same with the earlier start. I can't see past Limerick again this summer but it would be great if it can be put up to them in the latter stages by a county, as it feels hurling has gone a bit stale or one sided the last while, which was never the way before but thats fair play to Limerick. However even the great kilkenny team of the last 20 years had to battle it out over some epic games with great teams over the years. Fingers crossed those big matches will re emerge.

I'm not a fan of the group stage thing in Munster at all, and the all Ireland final in July is just wrong. Cork are down at the moment, but there is some good talent coming through.

I think there needs to be a change of manager at senior level though. Kieran Kingston is a very nice man, but tactically he's a very poor manager.

Ya not a fan of the Munster group hurling either. Just feels like an extension to the league. The atmosphere and intensity of knockout championship is well and truely gone unfortunately. The positive of it is the likes of Ennis and Waterford getting 2 big games that they would never have held before the revamp.
Ya Kieran has had his time. Cork need a fresh new approach going forward.

Was in Belfast over the weekend on a stag do, where one afternoon we had a Gaelic games session at a local club. We were given an intro to both sports, the rules, the general structure of it throughout the country and the basics of each and having a game of hurling and then football between the 20 of us.

Absolutely loved it.

Nails sport but as we're all rugby/football lads we had a great time. Some pretty spicy challenges all over the place!

Doing my best to keep up with it all via this thread ?
