Honestly couldn’t tell you anything about the soccer in NI, never had an interest in it.Girls would of been frustrated after the end of the Kerry game last time out.
Think it was the end of the soccer league in the north today so BBCni would of understandable been focusing on that rather than a dead rubber involving Down?
They still have the 5 all Irelands though.?Honestly couldn’t tell you anything about the soccer in NI, never had an interest in it.
I would be a liar if I didn’t say I’m enjoying Down’s demise ?
Too much class and winning experience in that Dublin team, to just die away easily. You may possibly not be the force of old, but still either Kerry Dublin or Tyrone will win the all Ireland.Well, not going to get carried away but that is the first convincing performance since Jim Gavin stepped down. Hopefully we have recovered our mojo
One of the many disappointments I had over the years was losing the All Ireland in 95 to Down. Great fans thoughOnly just seen the Down result, and it's the Tailtean Cup for them now. They did win an u20 Ulster football title last year, so there is something to work with there.
Perhaps bringing Wee James back was a mistake? Paddy Tally is one of the best coaches in Ireland and they got rid of him. Down have a great history, and likewise so do Cork in hurling.
History guarantees you nothing in the modern game though, you either stay up to speed with your competitors or get left behind.
Some stayed in Ulster for four successive years, in the years from 1991 to 1994. The all Ireland final in 1993 was disappointing, but i couldn't begrudge Derry that win.One of the many disappointments I had over the years was losing the All Ireland in 95 to Down. Great fans though
Mea culpa - 1994. We scarped through against Tyrone in 95. Too early in the morningOne of the many disappointments I had over the years was losing the All Ireland in 95 to Down. Great fans though
Joe Brolly singlehandedly destroyed us in the second half of the semifinal. We were coasting in the first halfSome stayed in Ulster for four successive years, in the years from 1991 to 1994. The all Ireland final in 1993 was disappointing, but i couldn't begrudge Derry that win.
I remember the semi final against Cork that year. Jason Sherlocks mother i think, comes from a small village called Ballyhea in North Cork.Mea culpa - 1994. We scarped through against Tyrone in 95. Too early in the morning
O Muircheartaigh about O hAilpin - "his mother his from Fiji, his father from Fermanagh - neither of them known as strongholds of hurling"I remember the semi final against Cork that year. Jason Sherlocks mother i think, comes from a small village called Ballyhea in North Cork.
