Just trying to work out how All Ireland series might work out:

If Galway, Derry, Dublin and Kerry retain their provincial titles, the seedings could be as follows:

1. Galway, Kerry, Dublin, Derry
2. Armagh^, Louth^, Clare, Sligo
3. Mayo, Roscommon, Tyrone, Monaghan
4. Donegal, Cork*, Kildare*, Westmeath

* Down and Offaly could yet knockout Kildare and Cork. ^ Armagh and Louth will be Seed 4 if they lose their semi-final.
I've just realised that Down winning is a bad thing for Cork. The whole thing is bit of a fiasco imo. The league is more important than the provincial championships now.

It absolutely is mate, the Provisionals are in their last years imo - though look at Clare, relegated to Div 3, but season made after getting to the Munster final.

But then it looks like Tyrone and Mayo are ceding their provincials to have a crack at the All Ireland series - its like the wild west at the moment - dont know what to make of it.

I'd love to see Down win Ulster. The Mourne men are by far my favourite Ulster team.
We've been in the doldrums for too long, an Ulster title is long overdue. Can't see it this year either though, Armagh should be too strong.

Down u20s are in the Ulster final on Wednesday night, things are definitely on an upward curve in the county, the crowds are back and getting behind the team again.

Corks first game in the Munster hurling championship is this Sunday against Waterford.

I grew up on the border with county Waterford, and i have relatives from there but i really want us to beat them though.

I just can't stand that demented midget of a manager they have, the poison dwarf himself Davy Fitzgerald! lol

Armagh v Down.

As a South Armagh lad this transcends football.

Hold our nerve, do our thing and go the final.
I'm in the Down camp here i'm afraid! I was a big fan of that team they had in the 90's.

My heart says Down, but if i was a betting man i'd be putting my money on Armagh. I'm really looking forward to this one.

Apparently a supporter passed away at the Limerick v Clare game according to a poster on the Boards.ie website.

Whoever the poor person was suffered a medical episode, the ambulance personal were there for 30 minutes working on him or her. A similar thing happened at Goodison a few years ago as well.

It sure does put sport into perspective. May that poor person rest in peace.

Flags out, sandwiches made and time to turn Clones orange

Enjoy a chara. I'm in HQ this afternoon, via a skin full in Drumcondra.

Love a trip to Clones - not sure if it happens from your direction - but there is an old farmer on the Dublin side of Clones who opens one of his fields of the road, for parking, all the cars with rear wheel drives and especially BMW get stuck in the muck - hes gas craic - always have a sandwich and cup of tea with him - watching his son pull Beemers out of the muck with their tractor. Only in the GAA. lol
