Branthwaite playing well for 2 games doesn't change it and although i don't want us to block the progression of gibson and branthwaite, we conceded way too much last season. A bit was to do with midfield and pickford, but we're still too light in that area imo.

I’m not to sure Branthwaite did well. 3 mistakes in 3 games that cost goals, but he’s only young so I wouldn’t worry.
Mina and Keane have proven to be anything but consistent. With the clown in goal, and no right back we will seriously leak goals for fun. Without quality additions

Yeah, it's true, i just feel we need one player there with proper experience, all of our options are quite young, especially for centre backs. I really do feel we need a leader there if only for 2 years.

Holgate and Branthwaite must have been surprises last season that has changed the thinking on centrebacks. I’d still like another one but potentially Holgate and Mina look like first choice with Keane Branthwaite and maybe Gibson as cover. I’d love to swap out Keane for a faster better player but even if we don’t as long as Holgate and Mina stay fit it’s not the worse position In the team.
