Would make absolute sense to sell him this summer - no point having Keane stuck on the bench earning 90k+ a week whilst having just 2 years left on his deal.

Either give him a contract extension or sell this summer otherwise we'll lose him for peanuts in his final 12 months.

I can see it.
Suppose it depends on the price and a buyer. He’s done ok since coming back, but he’s not the answer long term. Also has 2yrs left on his deal. Are we going to give him a new one and be stuck with him until he’s 32.

I doubt it, if we do buy Gabriel (or another CB), we probably want a total of 4 CBs for adequate cover. Unless we promote one of Gibson or Branthwaite or buy 2 CBs - Keane will stay. Unless someone comes in with a £20mil + bid

Considering Mings went for £25 million we could easily get £20-25 million from a English club imo.

Either or would be my guess.

He could well be the young centre back we've targeted, but we'll try to go for the safe, experienced stop gap in the short term if we can't get our main target.

I know nothing about him, nothing.

But plays in a bigger league, is fairly cheap (considering), and fits the mould of powerful and young I’ve been crying for.

But I guess if you’re Gabriel, Naples or Liverpool?

Napoli used to be a dead cert CL football, but that Gattuso is a head case and failed everywhere he’s been a manager - I know he won the cup - or Ancelotti - Defensively brilliant will be a guarantee to up your game.

Probably get more dough here too.

Maybe we need 4 if we get Europe. Also probably down to if we get a decent offer and it works for us regarding FFP.

Would make sense if we wanted 4 CB's to sign Gabriel and Silva with Keane sold.

Gabriel + Holgate 1st choice pairing with Silva & Mina rotational options when required.

Depends if Silva would be happy with a bit part role though.
