Gardening with Joey

Any advice on Lily Beetles Joey?

The only thing I've found that works is going out and checking the plants everyday and crushing the sods but I can't be arsed with that every single day. Instead I've just gave up on growing Lilies.

You can spray them with soapy water or water mixed with olive oil to kill them. Neem oil is a great way to kill the larvae and the bugs, be sure to spray the underside of the leaves. Spray again within 5 – 7 days to ensure there are no new eggs that hatched.
or I use this on most pest-using a dash of washing up liquid as a spreader per litre -

My gardening tip involves flymos. I have one. To get it to work you have to press a button and pull a handle at the same time. However it stopped working as the handles are light plastic. Looks like built to break after a period of time. I tried buying new handles but couldn't get the right size.

Mrs Caolam was keen to buy a new one, so was I as it would make life easier but there is a part of me that always thinks "I could fix that". I stripped the switch down, and re-wired it and now I have a push button on the handle of the flymo which works a treat. I just have to depress the button to make it run, take my hand of the button and it stops.

So you can kill them with soapy water

Or an oil

But you're recommending an insecticide???

@Joey66

Hi mate. Got my industrial strength weed killer for the brambles and bamboo, but is Round Up actually any good for grass growing through a patio?
