Basically because I cannot see for what reason he wouldnt. His family are up here and settled, he loves the season he has had, loves the way he has been used by RM, and was made to feel really appreciated by not only the manager, but the club as a whole.

At end of day Barry will go where the best deal is. This will be his last playing contract I'd say so he'll want the best paying one possible with a great opportunity to play.

I'd like him for another year as he's been great for us and he's great for the likes of Barkley and McCarthy but beyond that we'd need to go with a younger player and maybe that's why we haven't sorted something out as we're only prepared to offer him a year deal on a certain salary and other clubs are offering better money and more years?!

I think it would be good for both parties if he stayed with us on a two year contract with an option to then enter the coaching set up. Someone of his maturity, cool temprement and footballing intelligence would make a great coach in my opinion and offer something useful in bringing through talents such as Ledson. I think offering him such a contract would show how much he is appreciated here and give him the option of a good salary once his playing career is over. Although I'm confident he will choose to sign with us regardless.

talk about going from zero to hero...Barry is a man in demand if you believe the reports...Arsenal, Leicester, West Ham , Spurs now all (apparently) interested in his signature. So, another hugely successful loan then. Based on outcomes from this season, RM will be having to fight off players wishing to play for Everton on loan. It seems to be good for their careers!
