I think the lad is slowly declining the more this season continues don't think he has the legs to play a whole season and fa cup ties just looks really jaded and has done since Xmas onwards for me.
Quality player who I am made up to have in the squad but needs a rest badly im. Just worried that he could get burned out by time the seasons over and at his age that might affect him as a player in general.
Really hope not because he is a quality player and I hope he stays.

Hmmm - now we all love Gar Bar (apart from the lad above apparently).
A few media outlets suggesting we will offer him £50k per week for three seasons.
Is he worth that?
He's what 33 now?
No doubt he's been great this season. Exceeded expectations without doubt.
But £200k a month? I'm not 100% on this.

He's worth every penny and he's looked after himself for his entire career so I've no issue with the length of the deal either. He can be our Scholes.

Well Phil Neville got £50k a week and we all seen how bad he was. Gareth Barry is 10x the player that Phil Neville was so id have no problem with paying him £50k a week. We're paying Distin similar yet i dont see others complaining. Both keep themselves in really good shape. Barry can play till 36 easily.

I suppose £50k isn't that much in modern footy. Barry might not even take it. It's quite a lot less than he's on now.
I just worry he won't be all that when he's 36.
Guess we'll wait and see.

He's never had any real pace, but he makes up for it with the speed at which he reads the game and reacts to danger.

A 3 year deal seems a tad steep. I'd be looking to give him a years deal with view to extension. I think he's great by the way but age is against him. His experience and know how is second to non and would be great to have in the squad alongside McCarthy and Gibson.
