I'd give him an ultimatum if I was the club, make your mind up on the deal in the next 48 hours or do one.
I would. He would be a great signing for free on a year or 2 contract but it sounds like that wouldn't be the case. He's going to be on the decline anyway so I'm more interested in who we can get to fill the role long term.

Hasn't this whole 2M fee thing come from the rags? And yet we believe it to be fact...

I just can't see it being true. Maybe 2M or whatever if we'd wanted to make the deal perm whilst he was on loan. But when he's deals expired ? Why on earth? Can't say I've ever seen such a clause/term before.

Would have thought he'd have put pen to paper by now.

Beginning to think that he's not coming after all unless everyone's waiting for RM to arrive back so there is a bit more ceremony

Honestly think if this deal was going to happen it would have by now. Barry is looking for the longest and most expensive contract he can get so he's in no rush. I think we should forget about him, can honestly see him signing on a long term big deal somewhere and just plodding along picking up a wage. He's got nothing left to play for really and can see him being one of those players who signs a new deal and takes his foot of the pedal

Not sure this 2m thing is true, if it is, once again shocking negotiations by Everton

Barry is clearly worth £2m, City paid half the lads wages or more on the proviso that we'd pay £2m if we were to sign him this Summer. Basically City's way of getting a bit back if we took him long term. Hardly 'shocking negotiations'.

Why people are so negative all the time is beyond me.

Why do people keep thinking this should have been done by now?

Go back to bed mate

Well it means every other side can sign him for free and then use the saved cash to offer him a healthier wage packet. We now have to pay 2m for a player on a free

Yes city paid half his wages but so what? Had we not got him on loan they would have been paying his full wages for a player who wasn't in the team, so we did them a favour

Two sides of the coin mate

Exactly, I'm shocked that people think that due to Barry's contract finished with City means the terms of our loan contract become null and void.

As if this 2 million fee would only be paid if he was still in contract.
