Yes city paid half his wages but so what? Had we not got him on loan they would have been paying his full wages for a player who wasn't in the team, so we did them a favour

You're missing the point. City clearly wanted something, the deal was done last minute, they held the power. They're hardly going to cry over not sending a player out on loan for six months. Our other option to not agreeing the £2m clause was to not get Barry on loan, and based on his performances last season i'd say he was well worth that agreement.

According to "The People" (yes, I know), he's stalling over details of the contract and this has "alerted" Villa, Hammers and, more worryingly if true, Arsenal. Maybe he fancies a shot at CL? Arteta looks finished to me and Barry would do a better holding job than him in any case

However I remember all the talk was that in January we were going to pay 1m to sign Barry so that we could get Rodwell in on loan.

Perhaps if we offered him the correct deal he wouldn't be 'pissing us about?'

Arsenal won't want Barry IMO. They have cash, and if rumours are to believed they are after kadihra who is a better option for them. They also have flamini who was also brilliant last season, yes arteta looking a bit leggy these days but they also have both Wilshire and Ramsey for CM.

Villa couldn't afford Barry and West Ham? Seriously who wants to go play there!?

It will get done, I'm pretty sure it's just a case of crossing the T's and dotting the I's so to speak. If it is a bigger wage an extra month could save us £££'s, and tbf why should we rush to start paying him to sit on a beach somewhere!
 
Not sure why it is taking so long - we have not signed anyone good so far in this window - while the RS are signing up players
 
If he does sign for someone else, he'll live to regret it I reckon. Where else would he get the same level of respect and appreciation from the fans?
