The club could really do with learning when to release information like this.

We want our club to be on the back pages, exposure is not a bad thing for a club seeking investment and they announce our first summer signing a few moments before the World Cup semi final kicks off.

No offence mate, but I don't care if we're on the front page, page 3 or the back pages, all I care about is if we're signing the right people, and Gareth Barry is a good signing for us.

His legs went on him towards the end of the season and we've given him 3 years. Great player but I reckon we'll regret this end of the season. Hopefully not, though, obviously. A lot will depend on Gibson's fitness and whether Barry can be afforded a rest.

Great signing, my man. He played too much last season because of no other viable options. With Gibson back (probably for like 1 game before his legs fall off) and maybe Rodwell coming back too I think Barry and McCarthy can be rotated nicely
