Watching it back this guy created both our goals with his work rate and endeavour. Top professional and he didn't make a big deal about the costa thing, it wasn't a huge problem and he dealt with it well

I actually just rewatched the whole 2nd half, and I have to say Baz had the aim of messing with Costa the entire game. Every chance he could, he went in full force to remind Costa. Again and again, even when Baines was collateral damage. Knowing he'd eventually snap, and he did, and kept his cool not to react and allow Costa to look the victim and it worked! Up the baz! Not many players can do that.

Aye, I think it would have been worth a yellow if he didn't already have one, though. I didn't realise he was already booked so started clapping and said "worth a yellow, well played" then got awfully confused when he started walking towards the dugout.

He did a job on Costa today, no doubt about that. His pressing, harrying and work rate at 35 is incredible.

I remember thinking he was finished when Ozil made a fool out of him at World Cup 2010, sure made a fool out of me. Love him to bits, the square jawed hunk.

My girlfriend said Gareth Barry ear'nt his money today. She would have strangled Costa and she does a mean Chinese burn. She requested Costa in a body bag and Gareth in her bed.

It will give him the opportunity to rest up for 2 games and come back fresh. Also gives us chance to see how Basic and McCarthy will work as a midfield. Barry has played well this season and will be missed but he's 35 so we need to see what else will work as an option!
