Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

He'll learn, bags of natural talent. He will become a world class player. [can vault this if you want, because he will in five years time] obviously his decision making needs to improve and it will. Coleman went through the same process at a older age.

spot on mate. He's come to one of the toughest leagues in the world and will learn quickly. Honestly at half time, I thought what a ****ing amazing player this lad is going to be as he showed snippets of genuine world class play. I can handle him being a bit greedy because he's young and inexperienced. On another day he could have scored 3 and had 3 assists. He will win us games this season and people can vault me on that as well!

hope he plays vs newcastle tbh, despite his 2nd half showing. They have a turly woeful defence and are just the team that buckles against any player with real class, aka anichebe.

Couldn't believe some of the comments in the match thread last night. People expecting him to be doing all the right things in his second competitive start at this level. If he was as good as some were demanding there's no way we'd have him here.

I was proper delighted with him myself. He'll get yelled at for what he did wrong and that's a good thing - developing players need to make those mistakes to fix them quicker.

The lad is going to be a player in the very near future; delighted we can tie him down for another year as he's superb.

At least he's good enough and has the confidence to try things, he's young and will learn, I'd rather he tried to beat someone and failed than give an easy 5 yard pass to someone else, we have plenty of players who do that. Said the same about Mirallas, sure he'll get it wrong now and again, but he will learn.

Yeah, he was frustrating in the 2nd half but he is a kid and learning. I think he will probably learn quickly too so if we get him longer than just this season on loan then we will have a fine player. At present though you couldn't play him and Barkley in the same side as 2 young upstarts trying stuff when they don't have the nous to do the defensive job would leave us wide open on the counter attack.

I hope he plays Monday. With Newcastle's defence, they will give us 9 pen's with this kid running at them.

I would work on getting in on the lose ball from his shots from wide too.

lol...don't compare Seamus with Gerard...different leagues

I have a mate who's a hardcore Barca fan. Goes to most games including the B games.
So we've talked a lot about Deulofeu since he joined Everton. Most of the reason that he told me that Deulofeu was sent out on loan are obvious... needs to learn to play in a team where he isn't the absolute star, needs to learn to use his team-mates etc.

But we were talking about his performance the other night and I was talking about how good barkley has been this season and that we seemed to miss him against Fulham. So after I showed him Barkleys performance against Norwich he is now convinced the Ross is better than anything Barca have coming through La Masia.

Whether true or not, that's a great compliment coming from a Barca fan who I really feel knows his football.

Agree - was so interesting when he got on the ball as frankly no-one (team mates included) had a clue what was going to happen next.

His skill levels are insane - he'll be a great in the future for sure - he did one run in the first half v Fulham which was just staggering, pace, skill and close control - an amazing if incomplete footballer (currently)
