Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I would start him over Naismith and a front 3 of Deulofeu, Lukaku and Mirallas.

This is my dream 3.

Don't know if we'll ever see it from the start though.

Hope he now gets some regular sub appearances starting on Monday night. Naismith told him exactly where he wanted the ball for the assist but it still took some skill to do. Half an hour to try to spark something, he's the sort of option you want.

Playing at pedestrian pace, passing it around in our own half a lot suits away teams down to the ground, having someone direct with pace like Deulofeu is exactly what we need in games like this. It doesn't even matter he hangs on to the ball too much cos it will still make them give fouls away, etc. Nailed on Naismith will start and we'll lose 1-0 having had 99% possession. Agree - was so interesting when he got on the ball as frankly no-one (team mates included) had a clue what was going to happen next.

His skill levels are insane - he'll be a great in the future for sure - he did one run in the first half v Fulham which was just staggering, pace, skill and close control - an amazing if incomplete footballer (currently)

He did also lose the ball a fair few times, I think he needs to work on his decision making.

If our sole chance of success rests on the shoulders of a raw 18 year old loanee then we really are in trouble. Not a stretch to think Naismith with Mirallas, Barkley and Lukaku should trouble a Barcodes backline that conceeded 3 at home to Hull last weekend is it?

And I thought I was a pessimist. He's a talented lad, but is still most definitely an impact sub.

Hate barca, I'm a real fan but if he plays for barca 1st team then I will watch them a lot more.

I always look at him and hes in acres of space and we will waste it. He must get so pi55ed off when they don't give it to him

Do you think Martinez is waiting untill players get tired which is usually January and then he will be starting games?
He should start when we play the likes of Hull at home definitely. The way he screams at players for not giving him the ball is class, bloody love him

The way he takes players on is mad, its like he doesn't try. You know what hes going to do but they just can't seem to stop him.
