Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Hmmm. That brilliant run aside I thought he was quite poor. Challenged for nothing and his first couple of touches were awful.

His touch was off against Spurs apart from one good dribble and one good cross. Got a good 30 mins to show what he can do. Doesn't seem to have much pace running without the ball. Got me thinking - will he ever be good enough for Barcelona? If not, why not stick in a cheeky £6m bid for him. In a few years he could be brilliant. His close control is excellent, he can cross a ball and he can curl/shoot balls into the net. We should try to sign him!

Been thinking the same myself. I mentioned before, I don't see this kid getting anywhere near barca side for a number of years if ever. Wouldn't suprise me if barca would do a deal on a perm deal which saw them have a buy back clause in there at a set price. Could work well for all parties.

Didn't think he was poor, but don't think he did enough to warrant a start over pienaar or mirallas next week. Mind you if Lakaku is injured I'd start kev up front against palace so maybe could give him a chance of starting.

I'd start him next week. He needs to get more stuck in though...

Thats not his game though. Theres no point expecting it, as it is not going to happen. What he did do is track his man, sometimes back into the defense which is an improvement as he would have been told to make sure Coleman was not exposed and followed those instructions.

He started with two bad touches and after that he was involved in two of our most dangerous moments, one to setup Coleman who could have got a pen and the other a chance he created himself. Other than that he did okay, not fantastic but ok.

I think...going on Mirallas performance today and overall this season that this is enough for Deulo to have a good shout to start or get another half hour next week.

I know it's not his game mate and I'm not expecting him to make any flying tackles. I'd just have liked to have seen him challenge for the ball more in 50-50s
