Remember last season when Ross wasn't played and then was handed a start in two massive away fixturea at WHL and the Emirates?

He should have been starting a few games against "lesser" opposition befire being chucked in the deep end like that, IMO.

FWIW I thought young Gerard did very well today when he came on.

He held the ball well and ran with it.....and he popped up back in defence helping out Seamus a few times.

And there is a frisson of excitement every time he gets on the ball.

I would rest Mirallas next week and have the Barcelona kid on the right.

Just checked on soccerway lads and we are DEFO not winning this one. They have lost 5 in a row but yeah, Whenever Deulofeu gets the ball I actually get excited. I know Mirallas is the same kind of player but he just doesn't get me excited one bit apart from when he done that run vs Liverpool.

absolutely not.. he's not a first choice starter. But it would be nice to entertain the idea that we have enough depth to utilize "squad rotation" every now and then. Under Moyes, this was an all too foreign concept to Everton. But with Roberto bringing in new faces and showing that he is willing to give youth a chance, this is something that is easier to envision now. I think Crystal Palace would be the perfect match to give Deulofeu his first Premiership start. If not against the league's cellar dwellers, then when?!?!
