Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Mirallas was nothing short of pathetic yesterday, offering Coleman no back up whatsoever. He could do with a royal blue kick up the a**e next week and give the young matador a start. Deulofeu offered Coleman far more protection when he came on, he needs to feel involved and next week is the perfect opportunity.

Good shout for him to start next week. Mirallas has been playing like his position isn't under threat, so it could do him good to be benched.

I would start him next week and give him his chance. if mirallas and pienaar have compitition it will bring the best out of all of them.

Bingo.
Put him in, if he performs Mirallas will no doubt up his game, as will Pienaar as they have seen what this lad can do in the Premier League.

Whilst I don't think Gerrard has done enough to warrant a start yet....mirallas has done more than enough to warrant a place sat on the bench. Been very dissapointed with him this season.

Start the 'barca kid'

Eh? They are absolutely awful. One of the worst teams in Premier League history, easy.

As someone else replied to you. Draw then.

If we win this I will start to believe it could be a decent season for us. I know they are awful mate but it doesn't work like that. I always say to iijy that you win games when you are due one unless you are Derby County

absolutely not.. he's not a first choice starter. But it would be nice to entertain the idea that we have enough depth to utilize "squad rotation" every now and then. Under Moyes, this was an all too foreign concept to Everton. But with Roberto bringing in new faces and showing that he is willing to give youth a chance, this is something that is easier to envision now. I think Crystal Palace would be the perfect match to give Deulofeu his first Premiership start. If not against the league's cellar dwellers, then when?!?!

Exactly what I think.

Got to admit, I was actually surprised that Martinez brought Barkley and Deulofeu on in the same game especially vs a team like Spurs. I'm not a moyes hater but he would never do that vs Tottenham.
I know we played poor but that is such a risk which he would never have done.

Much better performance from the lad on Sunday, been honesty underwhelmed with him so far.

Start him against Palace & he'll be sound I reckon, needs to get stuck in on the headers more, though.

I am the complete opposite, i sit there wanting him to recieve the ball all the time. sometimes it doesnt work but you can hear the collective intake of breath from the fans in anticipation of what he is going to do. i love players like this.

He did go up for a few towards the end, I think someone must have had a word with him after he bottled out of one.

When he glided right through that Spurs defence, made it look so so easy. The kid has the ability to do magic. And I like magic. A lot. Really want to see him have a run at Palace. Let's smash them out the park to prep for the derby.

This. Am I the only one who's terrified we will suffer the proverbial wet fish in the face going into the international break by Palace getting their long overdue win as is typical against us? Going on quality of teams we should win at a canter, but you just get the feeling they are due a win, possibly under a new manager as well. Would well and truly bring us all down to earth. *shudders*.
