I might be one of the minority....but i would not want him to sign for us on a permanent...

he's making it very clear when he plays that he is all about HIM...yes he can run yes he can dribble yes he can place a ball well but at the end of the day he is FAR from a team player and his own arrogance is going to keep him in that mindset...

i have no problem when we have a lead for him to to go solo and shoot and see if he can extend the lead but against United he was so frustrating...0-0 late in the game...simple cross to Romelu would give him the assist and Everton the win but no he is too caught up in himself and wasted numerous opportunities...

he's young he will develop will be most people response...well he can go learn that elsewhere then come back

he's greedy and i can tell from the body language of the other players they are getting frustrated with him which will lead to either less passes heading his way or other players not making the necessarry run coz they don't want to waste their energy all for the opposition to get a goal kick....Lukaku responds the most towards him but watch that match again and see how many of our players throw their hands up in disgust...

and did he celebrate with the team and hero Oviedo? no he didn't ...he wasn't the man in focus so he just wandered to the dressing room

im sorry i tried really hard to like him but i don't

Yeah he did actually. Jagielka didn't celebrate with the team and neither did Barry.

fair enough didn't spot him myself but even so the rest of my reasoning still stands

I've seen all our players moan at Barkley though, its just decision making. Would you like him to go back to Barca B now then?
I Honestly don't think Football is the sport for you if you don't enjoy watching him

I'm not dramatizing anything i just don't allow a players hype to cover up their weaknesses

he's the only everton player i have criticised outside of Osman (who has shown alot of improvement TBF)

i don't appreciate his arrogance and un willingness to pass to players in a better position

yes Lukaku, Barkley and Mirrallas are guilty of bolloxing up passes but at least they are attempting them... in the Stoke and United games there are 6 opportunities for him to grab a potential assist...yes they might not have all been scored... but i'd rather he attempt it then belt it wide trying stupid angles or simple chips into the keepers hands...

Did i say Barca B?

i said i wouldn't want him on a permanent...yes i enjoy seeing him bomb up the pitch yes i enjoy seeing him school defenders yes my heart rushes every time but then when it comes to the final decisiont im sick of being let down... he has ALOT to learn....and if we are going to sign someone on a permanent i'd prefer them to have thatr element of that game already established

Barkley is a better player than Gerard IMO - like i said IMO don't get your emotions hurt by it

and football not the sport for me is a pathetic attempt at what seems to be a generic insult on here

i love everton i love football.....i am just throwing up an opinion

So if you were chairman and you had the money to sign him up right now you would say no?

In the future he will be playing for a better team than Everton mate. I'd sign him right now if we could

Teenagers tend to be egocentric. Some wiring in their brain dictates it apparently. As a parent of two of them, and thus well schooled in dealing with this propensity, I am prepared to cut Gerard some slack. He's a player that if we were offered a second year loan, I would bite the offerors hand off...most GOT participants would, I am sure

They all should to be honest. It would be worrying if people say no.

I have no doubt he will become a Champions League team starter and do very well...hell 5 years he may be one of the best

but right now no i wouldn't....we're at a stage were European regularity wither Europa or Champions League is a must with an ageing squad ...we need young ( not teenage) but early 20's with players who have an established game can play week in week out at a consistent level i.e McCarthy who will build the squad and spend time here....

not somebody who's development and arrogance could potentially cost us points whilst he learns then once excells ****s off to the biggest caller is my point....

i have nothing against his skills or future abilities....it's his contribution to the club thats most important....when Mirrallas isn't scoring he's Assisting.....thats the type of player we need

But isn't it amazing to see an Everton team fielding two 20 year olds (Lukaku and Barkley) and a 19 year old (Gerard). Throw in McCarthy at 23 and you are witnessing a template as to how to compete in a world where price (dollars) thinks it describes value...it actually doesn't ...not all the time anyway.

fair enough didn't spot him myself but even so the rest of my reasoning still stands

no it doesn't ... It was made perfectly clear from the start - Barcelona rate the kid highly, he has a huge buy out clause - they trusted Martinez to further his development - Everton, Barca, Gerard all benefit.... apart from you apparently..

You won't be saying any of this lad when he bags vs Liverpool Kop End

so we should match the HUGE buy out clause to develop him then sell him once he acheives his missing attributes? that's Evertons benefit?

he won us a game against Stoke.... fair play to him....he was rank average vs United
