Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

He's got to become less predictable, if he can mix it up more the whole pitch will open up for him. He's a demon on the ball but once he gets in to the final 3rd it all becomes way too predictable, especially on the right.

Yes and no.

He scares the sh*t out of the opposition by doing the same thing over and over.

Doesn't matter, lids...doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results is madness. He's sh*tcanned his and other's efforts by not picking a pass, we've all seen it numerous times The whole point is to open up the pitch for himself even more by keeping defenders honest, especially when you CAN beat a man like he does. It's the next step for him, as a winger.

Thing is though mate, I've seen several clips of him scoring from that tight angle for Spain's young guns.

So why wouldn't he try it in our games?

Not about not doing it, Ijj...he's up against a different defender and goalkeeper in this league. His only goal came from cutting in to the middle. The likelihood of him scoring from the angles he's been shooting from on the wing are so low it's better to receive the ball at that angle and shoot because at least the keepers moving...it's the same reason for passing from that angle. You're not going to get enough cheap goals like that here, especially when they feel like you're not going to pass/square it. If he starts picking good passes and one-two's with others it really will open up things for him more, just like what happened for his goal. The kid's a beast on the ball, just needs the head to go with it and he'll light fires all over the pitch.

In fairness to him ever since he was first introduced in pre-season there has been balls he has pulled back from the byline, and whipped across in front of the keeper which simply weren't pounced upon. Some more time together with Lukaku and we wont be complaining as much about his end product. Lukaku should already know if he is studying the game, that Deulo is most likely to take it close to the byline when in full flight and he should be heading for the near post.

Example being Fulham. Amount of balls he put on a plate for someone and no-one gambled.

Knew you'd say that iijy. I'm no worse than you.

I agree with this.

I would love to see a confident Jelavic playing with Gerald.

He would be on the end of those cutbacks.

Look at the ball Cabaye received for his goal yesterday........ Gerard needed to do this for his one on one at OT to play through Mirallas

I know mate, he will learn that though. Hes only 19 and he is rated highly in Spain so he thinks he can score from whatever angle. All of us would probably be like that

absolutely right...we could get a bucket load of goals when he acquires distribution skills. I guess that is why he is here with us: to acquire depth to his genius.
This loan system seems to work well for us doesn't it?. I see Wenger thinks on-loan players should be allowed to play against parent clubs...I agree with him. Good manager that Arsene bloke...got a bit of class...like ours

"In a recent match Deulofeu is said to have dribbled past an opponent returning past the beaten defender and asking him if he’d like his autograph. It’s that kind of behavior that won’t be tolerated in England but is guaranteed to be broken at a lunch pail football club like Everton."

WTF?
