Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Maybe young Gerard will fall in love with the backstreets of Walton and slap in a transfer request if and when Barcelona demand him back and tell him he's staying there to fight for a place in the team.

On some hot summer evenings, I often hear the gentle plucking of Spanish guitars
drifting in the breeze across Walton Vale.

That, and the police helicopter.

That said 60K/year. I get the feeling Barca might be open to selling him for say 15-20M but if there is Baines money in the future I would rather it be spent on a striker. Would love to see him back on a loan deal for one more year.

Don't fall into the trap of torturing yourselves, let this fantasy go...Also, going forward, avoid drivel from the capital based papers on anything Barcelona related - that means Marca & AS...Furthermore, Guillem Balague knows as much about what the club or it's players want to do as you or I

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath (beyond hoping for a second year with him on loan).

Balague is a ball bag said Arteta to Athletico was a done deal.

I doubt that Barça will move on from a 19 year old kid when he's already making an impact at Everton (even when he's not passing the ball).

Even more if the kid is the most protected kid in the history of La Masia, he dropped out of school when he was 14 (everyone who has done that has been spelled out from La Masia except him). Has had a lot of incidents with coaches and players when he was young and Barça stil believed in him. (well, on his massive talent)

He will get better, but even if he doesn't he's still a superb option off the bench for any team in the world. Changes games.
I think he'll get better. Another poster said he'd be closer to Pedro than Messi. I don't see that. Effective as Pedro has been, Deulofeu has more ability in his big toe. Having sid that he'd do well to watch Pedro's finishing.
He should end up being a world star but he may turn into another Onesimo. Don't know if you're old enough to remember him.

I doubt that Barça officials know if they want him back or not. If they want both of them back, you need to sell someone and not buy anybody. Depending on the season that Barça has....If Barça wins the Champions League or at least La Liga, they could do that. If they don't...I'm a barça fan, they will buy at least 1 winger, 1 midfielder and there's literally no room for Deulo or Rafael.

People in Barcelona are seriously mad at " Tata Martino", so if a new coach comes next season and it's not from "La Masia" .....I doubt they will come back.

There's a lot of scenarios.

I don't know what fans you talk to, but apart from the "fans" who only follow Barca because its what you do as a Catalan and dont actually know anything about football, most people ignore the nonsense in the media and know that a new manager needs time. The pressure on Tata is coming from the media and opposition to the current president.

As for Deulofeu, he is not ready for the first team at all, so unless somebody tries to buy him I think he will stay at Everton.

He's got to become less predictable, if he can mix it up more the whole pitch will open up for him. He's a demon on the ball but once he gets in to the final 3rd it all becomes way too predictable, especially on the right.
