sorry mate but I have to disagree. The English premier League is one of the the most competitive competitions in the world. Let Spain sort its own Madrfid v Barcelona competition out
Come on......the Premier League is not competitive ffs.

You can't call a league competitive if only 2/3 teams out of 20 have any chance of winning it. Utd have won it 13 times out of 21. The only interruptions have been by teams who have bought it.

Only one team can win it but that doesn't mean all the games were easy wins. The prem shows the world week in week out that the 'best' teams in the league can't turn up and win every game like in the bundesliga/la liga.

Stoke v Chelsea last week - Hull v Liverpool - Cardiff v Man City - West Brom v Man Utd for example

I see that as a competitive league. No position is defined.

The problem is that the top four positions are pretty tightly defined (Chelsea, Man Utd, Man City, Arsenal) - the only thing interrupting that this season is how bad of a manager David Moyes is and how good Suarez/Sturridge/Coutinho have been.

Ahhh the "any team on its day" argument / anomaly - sadly it is a red herring.

Have a read of this which shows clearly how we have one of the least competitive leagues in the world,

http://www.theguardian.com/sport/blog/2011/oct/19/the-question-how-competitive-premier-league

and the follow up article which shows how it has been getting worse ever since the 50's

Well obviously- there is no real point to the Spanish domestic league at the moment. But I don't think a European Super League is the answer to that, partly because its just so unlikely that the Premier League will break at any given point.
The solution is quite easy really- sort out your own league and share the revenue fairly. Just make it more competitive. The answer isn't super Petro-league starring Barcaqatarlona PSG and Zenit St Petersberg. Super League indeed. You think the Spanish game is corrupt? Then your solution is most definitely not the Gazprom Euro Soccer Fest.

Spain/Catalans whatever, needs collective bargaining for tv rights.

Otherwise its just boring.

Thank god English football isn't like that. Its been bad enough as it is.

Still if it went the way of spain, it would be even worse.

Now though certain teams are falling away or will fall away. Eager everton eyes are ready to pounce.

Revenue sharing wouldn't be enough to root out the corruption in Spain, corruption that will not cede that money over very easily anyway - it's deep within the system

Money is killing the game, no doubt, and while a Super League seems like merely more of the same I think it'd at least be more competitive that would allow for less favorites - this is theoretical, of course

That would only be a temporary fix, I'm afraid. Throw all of us top clubs in the same league and favorites will emerge in no time. Teams like Arsenal and Juventus would get found out by teams like Bayern and Barca. Then, what would happen to all the other teams (Everton, Inter, Valencia, Bayer, etc) who most definitely wouldn't qualify for such a league?

Maybe if we had it semi-annually or even made it take place every X amount of years it could work, though.

....not sure if anybody picked up the TalkSport interview with Graham Hunter this afternoon. He's their Spanish football expert and was answering questions about Barcelona moving from Nou Camp. Anyway, he was also asked about Delefou and more specifically the prospect of him being with us a second season. Hunter says Barca have too many forwards, but the key to him staying is not so much fantastic goals like at Arsenal but is he developing under RM. If Barca see that he's developing and RM is turning him into the finished article its likely they will be happy he stays another season.

No offense but the opinion of anybody working for talksport is utterly worthless imo

...he was interviewed by TalkSport, he does lots of Spanish footy stuff along with the likes of Guillam Gillabert (might have that name wrong but you know who I mean). To be fair, he said he doesn't really know if he will be with us a further year, but he clearly knows Barca and feels the best chance we have is if RM is bringing him through to their liking.

A lot of that is stating the obvious though mate, im pretty sure that most on here could have said the chances of him starting for barca are very slim and to get him on loan wed have to show signs of developing him, Guillem Balague is the bloke you meant i think, and being honest the spanish footy experts we see or hear over here dont ever really come out with anything breaking news like, the better ones just speak pretty much common sense
