It's quite sad writing about politics at a Deulofeu thread, but I have no option.
Some people here who say are Barça fans talk about things they don´t know. First of all, these were Deulofeu´s shin pads he wore at Barça:

Take note of the flag behind him. It´s very clear how he feels.
Second, the differences between Espanyol and Barça are not politican.

These are the differences between one club and the other one:
- Barça: Founded 1899 by a couple of swiss and english players, who neither allowed to spanish nor catalan to be members of the squad. After Franco´s death, the nationalist parties tried to use the club as a platform. Chairman Nuñez never allowed that, but since he went away the club is starting to be a propaganda agent for them. Other than that, Barça is now a multinational with followers everywhere, like ManU or Juventus, and doesn´t represent Barcelona.
- Espanyol: Founded one year after -1900- by university students from Barcelona, and has its name because they were not allowed to play for Barça and wanted a club where all spanish people could play for. Almost all its supporters live in Barcelona or their suburbs. Now this is a refuge for catalans who feel different, and don´t want to form part of a stupid gloryhunting team collapsing all media.

He doesn't pass so he's never gonna get in barcas team ... He will stay another season am sure of it , he's improving all the time when he took that yellow against arsenal tracking back ... I don't reckon he would of tracked back 2-3 months ago it's doing him the world of good hear any barca fan should see that

This. I don't really see his game as a great fit with their first team. He is very direct (which I love about him - its a great quality). Barca want to see tiki taka passes all over the lot. He just wants to attack. Its quite possible that while Barca rate him highly, they don't see him as a good fit for their team, and will just sell him for a boatload of $$ when they feel his value has increased enough. I have no information on this - just based on what I see.

I wouldn't say they are the same possession team as what they used to be like. Sometimes they go more direct now.
If we get Europe he will come back to us, if not I think he will go to someone else.

No offence Pabbers, but having watched pretty much every game of Messi since he made his first sub appearance I would have to say he is not even close to the level of Messi.
Messi was showing excellence in all parts of the game from the off, Deulo is showing only promise in some parts and apart from being lightning fast he is not excellent in any part of his game yet, and quite poor in some.
Then again Messi might be the greatest ever so thats not a slight on our loan legend.
