Leave the Catalans alone Chico you meddlesome minx. Dead sound bunch, and I hope they get their independence from the evil empire just like us Irish! ;)

Visca Catalunya!

Why do catalans want independence?

And I thought irish were already independent?

And are Everton going to keep him then?

I'm a proud catalan and spanish too. I don't understand why are you tellin' about ''evil empire'' and that kind of things about my country.

I'll better go out a few days days of these thread. That's a heavy thread right now. That's a Deulo's thread and now that seems a ''civil war''.

I know what supporting a club is like... Why would I want to support any other club but Barca? I live and breathe my club. Nothing is like it. Going from being somewhat uninterested in football as a youngster while my parents watch Barca play to seeing Ronaldinho rip defenses to shreds, to seeing young players from the youth setup debut and come up to seeing us lift the greatest prize in European football...

Nothing will match seeing Deco, Messi, Eto'o, and Ronaldinho make magic happen as a unit. For that matter, nothing will ever match seeing Messi debut and evolve into the player he is today. From watching Ronaldinho earn an ovation at the Bernebeu to the heart crushing loss against Chelsea and Bayern Munich and the finger pointing the came after to even the departures from and arrivals to even our youngest levels of La Masia, I love Barcelona and everything it stands for. Mes que un club. I'd say it in Spanish but it isn't very different. Our philosophy, from the way we raise our youth instead of spending hundreds of millions on players to how we pass the ball and even recognize players no longer with us as our brothers (Thiago, Muniesa, even Reina to the point that he wants to return), there is no club like Barca, and I would never dream of supporting another club.

I've been a fan of Gerard since 2005, about a year after he joined the club. I want him to succeed more than anyone, and if it's in Barca fantastic, but if he needs more time in Liverpool then that's fine too, as much as I dislike it. It's nothing against Everton, I just think of my family first, and some clown slandering us who is clearly a member of a political party that directly opposes what we stand for is hard to sit by and watch.

Glory hunter? If that's what you want to call me, go right on ahead. It doesn't hurt me. Just get your facts straight. I know what supporting a club is like. Do you?

2 things mate. Barca do spend a lot on players. So stop talking ****e. And you've been a fan of Gerard since 2005 yeah? Somebody call the YEWTREE squad.

Evil Empire is a joking term, but there would be enough examples in the bloody history of Ireland and Catalunya to use that term. I was using it flippantly here though. I am sure, that if you are from this region, then you would not find it hard to find somebody who would agree with calling Spain something like that. Not saying I agree in full but dont pretend that this is not a common enough view.

Solo tengo que preguntar a mi amigo a mi lado si puedo llamar Espana el "evil empire". El dice...que si...historicamente si. Vale? No digo que es mi opinion, pero es la opinion de mucha gente en varios partes de Espana.

Anyway go Deulo! Hope he starts versus Fulham but I think it will be Barkley in the centre and Osman in his place.

No offence Pabbers, but having watched pretty much every game of Messi since he made his first sub appearance I would have to say he is not even close to the level of Messi.

Messi was showing excellence in all parts of the game from the off, Deulo is showing only promise in some parts and apart from being lightning fast he is not excellent in any part of his game yet, and quite poor in some.

Then again Messi might be the greatest ever so thats not a slight on our loan legend.

I meant style of play alone.

he also said Barca are trying to force Messi out.

he knows **** all

Spent a stag weekend here with Graham Hunter, seemed a bit of an arrogant so-and-so but knows his football and is obsessed with Barca. Was barely even mates with the stag but looked after the whole group really well.

When I told him I was thinking to move here he gave me his number and everything, was telling me he could get me a job in a football agents office. Haha. Never happened, the baxtard.

The Messi story is just ridiculous....right now....but the politics in the club are so f*cking stupid that I can imagine a president like Rosell messing up the club for everybody else just to boost his own ego. The problem being the Messi/Pep success is not seen as his. This being the main reason he bought Neymar who wasnt needed. Thankfully Neymar has been a hard working success so far.

He is direct, wants the ball, runs with it, glides past players, superb close controll, like to get close to the keeper to get shots off.

Not too different to Messi.

Ronaldo is all about pace & power.

Hardly yewtree mate. He might just like watching the youth. If we had a player hyped up like he is then I'm sure we would try and see him play at a young age.

He is missing pretty much all of the playmaker, passing, pressing part of Messis game though and has all of Cronaldos ego.

We will see. Like I said I hope he becomes at least half as good as everyone thinks he will, as for me its far from sure yet. With Messi it was clear from day one.

First impressions i got when i saw messi was a marradonna type player, maybe due to the size and close control and the way he could just glide past people, with delefou the nearest is to a ronaldo (although nowhere near the stepovers etc that a young ronaldo had initially
