Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Done well in starting for barca since hasn't he mate.. oh.

Part of the work that he needed, not all cantera players debuting at 16 become automatically promoted...There is only one Messi, of course...Still, he's a 1st team player now at 19 years of age and on loan and will be part of the 1st team squad for 2014/2015

Countless Barcelona 1st teamers debuted or were promoted at 19 or younger

You're missing the point though, how many of them get to build their physicality & improve skills in the prem? I think it'd way more beneficial to barca to have Gerard do that here for a bit longer. But we'll see I guess!

Are you one of those gloryhunting Barcelona fans?

Mundo Deportivo is as close to the club as AS is to RM - this is borne out of nearly 15 years of following the club...You're clinging to false hope if we're being honest, it was always a loan with his return a certainty - it was just a matter of it being 1 or 2 seasons and it's clear which it is going to be

It shows little understanding of how a loan nevermind a club like Barcelona works, FC Barcelona rarely loans out players nevermind players they count on...His early success with the Toffees and his ability to constantly create danger in the Premiership underscores how much he is ready for 1st team football and if he's going to get it, why would he get it somewhere other than his parent club?

Think your slightly overestimating him if you think he will get a game for Barca, from what I have seen he is very wasteful and clumsy, he is still way to raw to be anywhere near the Barca first team.

My point being that this happens at Barcelona more than it does at any club in Europe, that young players get a chance to show their quality with the 1st team and if they succeed, are promoted...We will see but while I was uncertain before, I feel very confident of his return this summer...A return, mind you, that I did not envision happening so soon last season or the one before...I felt he still had a long way to go in his game, mainly the tracking back & defensive aspects of his game

15 seasons of glory

Mate, I 'supported' Juventus, then Real, then Man U then real again then Bayern then Real then Milan then Porto then Barca then Milan again then Barca then Inter then Barca and now Bayern.

So I've witnessed far more glory than you, tbf.

I mean I've never actually been to any of their games cos I live in another country but I feel like choosing a team I'll never see play and writing that I have on the internet allows me to bask in their success anyway.

14 European Cups I've seen my teams win in the last 15 years, beat that.

Maybe he is raw and clumsy, but I think that during the injury, the team missed him badly. Last games, when he came on, the team was better (Liverpool, Arsenal, United, Stoke) and created a lot of chances while he was there. Since then I've not seen a great game from Everton, not a game with a lot of chances like the game against stoke that he started.

Wingers that love to dribble will always lose the ball, but they create chances. I think the team has not been creating a lot of chances (except the last game). Mirallas is also wasteful and clumsy, but I think he creates havoc and I find it better than a passing winger (playing much better lately).

Of course he'll play some awful games (fulham) and some great ones (stoke, arsenal), but that's why he's here. Barkley has had some awful games too, it's what happens when you're 19.

Yeah, spot on. We've missed that outlook he provides and getting focused on the times he's made the wrong call when in their final third is missing the point that just his presence provides us with space.

I think the point of most Everton fans, having watched Barca a little in La Liga and the Champions League, is that he is far from the level of Messi and Neymar and not as good as Pedro, Sanchez, Tello, and is Afellay still there? Point being, long-term, I think, and I'm in the majority, that it would be better for Barca to give him another season here. He's still very raw, and to be honest, can't see him holding down a starting spot until next season earliest, if he is still here.
