Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Today was an ideal match to give him a start. Get some minutes under his belt ready to come on as the supersub against Arsenal next week.

He started slow and got more and more involved in the game. So unlucky not to score with his superb run near the end of the first half. Deffo love to see him keep his place, possibly get Mirallas back in over Pienaar. I think Pienaar could turn into an ideal last 30 mins player for us from next season, esp if we can keep hold of Del Boy.

pissed me off when he was through on goal and the ref blew up for half time. i know it was about 7 seconds over the alloted stoppage time, but most refs seems to allow a corner to be taken well over stoppage time because it's "an attacking opportunity". The fact that he got 1 min stoppage time when carrol was down for a while and the mandatory 30 secs they add on for every sub - could have been a more stress free evening.

No problems with this kid at all, he will be hot and cold and sometimes he will come up against a stubborn full back or two that wont fall for his fancy feet. For me he needs work with Coleman/Baines (whichever side he's on) a little more, whether that be coming in off the line and allowing an overlap playing to the corner and knocking it back a few yards to allow the cross to come in.

He needs game time to become more consistent, but he will always have hot and cold moments because of the way he plays.

Anybody see that boss defending he did when Nolan was going to slot it in for 1-0 to them. Well in Gerry.

Yer quality that, showed he's prepared to work for the team, part of what he's gained by being with us. Didn't see that from him earlier in the season, gonna be some player in the future.

Yeah it was superb, the only downside was that straight away he had a chance to run at them but considering he had just sprinted the full length of the pitch TWICE, he just didnt have the legs.
