Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Tbh, all this tweet nonsense is just a storm in a teacup. The lad wants (at some stage , sooner rather than later to play where his heart resides. I have no issues with that. He conducts himself in a professional and motivated fashion for us...end of.

He's nowhere near good enough to be involved for barca anytime soon. They have some of the best players in the the world ahead of him in his position.

Not saying he is am I. Hes a la liga player, if he goes on loan. Personally I think he will go to someone in Spain. You can see him get pissed off, some of the passes/touches the likes of Osman and Naismith do are horrendous.

Can't blame Ged for wanting to go back. It's a sign of real ambition on his part that he's willing to go and fight for his place in one of Europe's top teams.

However, it's a shame his spell here has worked out the way it has. Without that injury I feel he really could have helped us grab a few more points which would have seen us at least pushing Spurs right now.

tbf mate, we ARE pushing Spurs. Only 2 points difference if we can beat palace at home (ie the game in hand). They have Chelsea this weekend.

True, two points if we win our game in hand. Do you see us narrowing it or even keeping it at that distance between now and May, though? When it comes down to it, I see us dropping more points than them. I'm forever the pessimist, though, so hopefully I'll have egg on my face in eleven games time.

I have to say if he can't make our team week in week out, then does he really think he will be challenging for a place at Barca next year? Even a place on the bench? Whether its at Everton or not he still has at least another year of development to go before he is ready for Barca, imo.

Barcelona is probably my favourite European City. I can understand why he enjoys living there. Whether he plays his football there next year is up to his parent club and they may well deem another year on loan would be beneficial to his development. That doesn't prevent the lad from saying he enjoys living and playing in Barcelona. As I said in a previous post; a storm in a teacup.

He's hardly pulled up any trees. He's had a good couple of cameos but he's not first team ready for them if he's only just starting for us. He needs, if he is sensible, another year away from Barca to develop. If thats not with us, so be it.

He's done extremely well for us and is a joy to watch. If he wants to come back great. However I'm not going to hold it against a 19yr old for being perhaps a little homesick in a different country/culture.
