Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

I think we'll overhaul them purely because they have Tim Sherwood in charge and he's bound to slip up eventually.

I've been thinking the same since he got there. The man is a clown. But he has a range of attacking talent to draw on to win matches, thus hiding his incompetence. We have a brilliant manager and a limited squad. That's the difference for me. The proof of this was in our game at WHL. We played better football, they were dross but won. Why? Because of one moment of quality from a top player.

Think he is saying the right thing here, shows ambition but is playing the best he can for Everton, if he didnt want to be at Barca i think there would be something wrong.
Still think we might have him next season anyway, not really good enough for them at the present IMO

The sad thing is we never saw the best of him.

Hr was just getting going when the injury came.
it aint over yet mate, the lad gonna be class, he worked hard on sat, the way he tracked back to cut that cross was something he may not have done 6 months ago, hes a direct player who wants to make things happen, he will have games were it doesnt come off and he runs into trouble, he still nearly scored the goal of the month as well

Yes, hopefully we get a good glimpse of his prowess in the final months of the season.

I just mean he was really coming good when that injury struck....God knows where we have been now if he had really got going during the past three months.

Still 11 games to go and Del boy is just re-getting fully up to speed...as are a lot of our 'were injured' squad...there might be some serendipity in the timing for the run home

Del Boy is a very talented footballer, there is no doubt about that. He provided flashes of brilliance on a number of occasions like our equalizer vs Arsenal . But to play a part for a team like Barc is no easy task. One thing he does not do enough is to perform on a regular basis. On last Saturday, the mighty McCarthy of West Ham kept him quiet until he was subbed. To sum up, he needs to perform consistently and in order to do that, staying at Everton for another season will do him a world of good. I do not think he is ready to sit on the bench for Barc never mind a regular starter for Everton. In a similar fashion, Ross even perform more consistently than Del Boy.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has claimed that Gerard Deulofeu could stay at the club beyond the end of this season.

The young striker is currently on loan at the Premier League side from Barcelona, and despite suggestions he will return to Camp Nou come May, the Spanish tactician has insisted that the Blaugrana prospect may continue his development with the Toffees.

“I think he was taken out of context. The interview was on Catalan radio and the question was ‘Would you like to play one day for the Barcelona first team?’

“The answer is going to be, as a Barcelona player who has been there since he was eight, yes because that’s his focus and wish for the future,” Martinez told the Liverpool Echo.

“But the interview does not imply he definitely will not remain here next season.

Brought on with 30 seconds left in the match, ridiculous

id agree if the match had been fizzling out but swansea were very strong all game and delofeu isn't the greatest at keeping possession and tracking back... martinez made the right call for the situation.

i do want to see him get more game time though, but today wasn't the day for it due to how well swansea played.
