Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Lucho will undoubtedly prioritize him and even if he didn't, I can't see a return to the Premiership happening again for him

he really is not anywhere near good enough for barca mate - he may be one day, but he's still a year or two off being a fringe player imo.

That period mid Nov to mid Dec he was fabulous. After the injury against Fulham he never recaptured that form. Nevertheless, I have a huge amount of time for the lad. I hope we get another year from him but I suspect we won't.

Thank you everton for this season and for the opportunity that you have given me! Whatever happens I will always be grateful.

well in gerry lad, would have him back, but if we get a more experienced player in who isn't as raw then it will be less frustrating ha. he's only had a handful of good games imo, but he did bring a lot to our game, especially in games where he came on from the bench.

He's not as good as he seemed at first. Not that I wouldn't like another year from him, but the media should realise that 'The Barca Wonderkid' and his parent club are getting more out of this loan than we are.

I'd love to see him back, real talent. Barca are desperately crying out for someone with his pace but because of their preferred formation and the fact he might just be too greedy to play as anything else but a direct messi replacement. Also every chance of a new manager there next year. 50/50 i reckon.

What do you mean by seemed at first? Do you mean he was that good at first, if so surely he is that good. If you know what I mean.

I suppose I expected more from him when I watched his early performances.. I feel that we saw the best of him early in the season, (admittedly he was injured halfway through) but I thought he showed more potential than he fulfilled.

He played about a thousand minutes, often as a sub and often asked to create something out of nothing...Sometimes he had great midfield support but in the 2nd half of the season there was little of that...Yet, 4 goals & 5 assists

I think had he not gotten injured or Everton been competing for a top 4 finish, we would've seen more of him...And again, the question has never been whether he has the quality or scoring ability to succeed in top flight football but whether he could work hard on both ends of the pitch as well as play within the team

He is not the finished article, at 20, but he has a bright future and would be a shame to see it wasted warming the bench at Everton or any other Premiership side...Especially when you consider he won't be playing similar football with his parent club...Being in the rotation at Barcelona under Lucho (The man who first called him up to play for the B team from Cadet A), playing CL football and working on a daily basis with Messi, Iniesta, Neymar et al will be important to his growth as a player...If the attacking depth changes such that he would see even fewer minutes than he did under Martinez then a loan to one of many competitive Primera sides with playing styles that mirrors that of Barcelona would be far more logical...Adama, for one, is almost guaranteed to see more 1st team minutes in the coming season unless they loan him out as well which would make the competition for minutes even more complicated

Glad he got a glimpse of Premiership football after having been chased by several clubs since he was 13/14, will go a long ways in building on his already high level of confidence to succeed with the 1st team of Barcelona...I was skeptical that he'd be able to get into the rotation more than a year ago but he's been exceptional at every level he's played
