You obviously are. People are fawning over him like he was some sort of revelation, in truth he was pretty poor, flashes of brilliance yes, potential to be up there with the best of them? perhaps, i'm not as convinced as others but the lad will certainly make a name for him self in the same way the likes of Nedved did.

I am only commenting on how he did this season, and apart from 5-6 games he was pretty damn poor. His decision making is one of the worst things i've seen in my life and his crossing wasn't the best, but like i said he is young and will improve.

I don't think he 'got us' as you are making out he did, he enjoyed being given a chance and wanted to try and prove himself in the Premier league but he was never 'one of us'. Even strac got us more than he did, but you wouldn't keep him around just because he got us would you?

Course not, Denis was unlikely to improve, Deulofeu almost certainly will. As for "not being one of us", aye, you may well be right, but you can often tell how much something means to someone when you're close up and see the look in their eyes. I saw that a few times with the lad. Mind you, I might be a romanticising old fool (y)

Still gutted. I was convinced that he'd be with us another year, and if it wasn't for Luis Enrique he probably would be. Shame, he would've terrorised European defences next season..

Still, wish him luck.

Extremely harsh post.

How many times did he whip the ball over the 6 yard box, only to see Lukaku meandering somewhere on the edge of the area? Because Rom wasnt where he should have been, does that make it a bad cross?

The lads decision making was suspect at times, granted, but so was Lukakus, Barkleys, Colemans, Osmans, Distins.... prety much everyone made daft mistakes at times during the season. I would suggest that you are criticising him because of the level expected rather than in comparison to other players in the squad/league. Hes 20 years old and is heralded as Spains brightest prospect. I cannot see how anyone can watch him this season and not see why.

My post is very fair mate, i like the kid i really do but people shouldn't re-write history. In football you can't just have the maybe if he did this maybe if he did that point of view we just have to deal with what he DID do. I am not judging him on the level i expected to have, because i had no expectation from the guy i've been fair to him all season but you have to be honest with your judgement on him at the end of the season.

I would suggest you are trying to make excuses for him, which is fair enough it is easy to get put into that mind set of being awed by him, a young spanish prospect from barcelona coming to everton! it all seems great and stuff and it's easy to get carried away by something as cool sounding as that, he came here he did okay at best. He will go on to make a name for him self like said, but his season here wasn't the best.

I think that's all people are getting at, he was nice enough to thank us so we are thanking him back and wishing him well. some of you need to get over yourselves.

I just think it's all a little over the top, he did ok, thanks for the kind message, good luck. I think to be honest he needs to get over himself, I'm just adding a little realism to proceedings without my FCBarca tinted glasses. I mean people are posting poetry ffs

Wish him luck, but would be stunned if he's anywhere near their starting line up next year. If he is, it'd be indicative of an extremely weak attacking line as he's simply not ready.

Just hope something clicks with him and he finds some consistency in his decision making, because I fear that if he doesn't do that soon then he's destined to be dropped to Barca reserves and waste away his formative years.

He was exciting here at times but wasn't even in my top ten performers this season, so we won't miss what he was, but we might miss what he could be.

I do get a slight hint of José Antonio Reyes about him.

Could waste the talent as Reyes did.

Could also become bloody amazing.

I'll be watching with interest next season for sure.

Very nice comments from the lad, glad he enjoyed his time here. Hope he goes on to fulfill his talent at his boyhood club.

But if in his preseason it turns out he needs a little more work before he is ready for Barca would love to have him back.

And regardless of if he comes back or not, hope he tells all his Spanish u21 friends what a boss team Everton are so that it helps us sign/loan a few more with skills like his.

Even very early on he seemed to enjoy the experience of Premiership & Evertonian football very much, even for a big talent like that I'm sure the young & cocky Catalan loved it all...Only natural that he wants to fulfill his childhood dream...Look forward to see how he handles this next step

Athletico Madrid Might buy him seen as they are the new champs in town ;)

Good point that, can't have done our reputation any harm as a place to nurture young talent if any opportunities arise with Barca or other clubs.
