Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Arsed? I'd be happy if Jay Z let me look after Beyonce for a year.

I do get what you're saying but Kennedy won't make it. He's on loan in the Scottish second division at nearly 20.

You have to allow for the fact that he's only really had one season under the influence of Martinez

Moyes did nothing with him

Martinez is sending him out on loan, as a favour to Stubbs, to give him some games.

Coleman was on loan at Blackpool aged 21... and Kennedy doesn't need to turn out as good as Coleman has to make it.

Making absolute statements about a player who has never kicked a ball for the first team is daft.

It's merely your opinion that he isn't all that

It's far FAR too soon to decide on Kennedy
It's not just merely my opinion that he isn't all that, most people who've seen him regularly would agree that he won't make it at Everton.

Oh and if ''it's far FAR too soon to decide on Kennedy'', then surely it's far FAR too soon for you to suggest he be ahead of a player like Deulofeu.

Of course he should be ahead of another player from another team. That's just common sense

Now, if we actually signed Delo and he was our player, that would be different

You just don't get it. Barca will send Delo here and he's going to do exactly what he did last year, play for himself so that he can make a name. He doesn't care about Everton one single bit. He'll use us and then go back to Barca to be a star for them.

It suits us much better to take care of our own players

That's different though

Kennedy would be a liability.

Deulofeu would produce the goods, goals and assists.

Kennedy will probably never be able to do that.

We're not an under 11 side in which everyone has to be given a game, Kennedy isn't good enough and we'd be putting ourselves in danger by playing him.

Stubbs is their manager, it's fairly obvious he's gone there because he'll get a lot of game time in a time who are expected to gain promotion.

As i said, Coleman was at Blackpool when he was two years older than Kennedy. The lad has plenty of time to improve.
I know but if we really thought he was gonna be anywhere near the first team here over the next few years would we have loaned him to such a joke of a league, regardless of who manages them? Nope.

...Mikey's not talking about improvement, he's on about sticking him in Deulofeu's place from last season, which would be absolutely stupid.

Except, it would seem, the guy who manages Everton.

"He did very well for Tranmere earlier this season and he is highly thought of by Roberto Martinez and the coaches at Everton."

But if you want to trust some people who've 'seen him regularly' over Roberto that's up to you i suppose. Personally i find this whole thing of writing off our youngsters a bit weird. It's like you want them to fail.

Early days yet, but I could understand why a manager may be critical of certain aspects of his game

Its a bit daft of Enrique to do that though - for a start, as much as he is an icon over there if he doesnt win something this season he will be out on his arse. Secondly, the old "criticise one unimportant squad player to show how strong you are" is an old and not particularly impressive trick for a new manager at a club to pull. How is Deulofeu meant to prove the manager wrong, given that he is at best only going to be sub?

If there is any chance at all of getting him back for a season, we would be mad not to give it a go.

I'm not sure that's the case, you have to get the balance right between short term and long term goals to prosper, we were a better squad with gerry in the team rather than kennedy, it helped us make europe and build a relationship of sorts with barca, our improved position may have swayed besic, lukaku etc, and on top of that kennedy could be loaned out to get games, rather than sitting in the reserves in case of injury because we didnt have enough players. I'd say the common sense move was exactly what martinez did

Christ on a wee bike.

All this Kennedy talk reminds me of the Seamus thread a couple of years back, and we all know what happened there to that 'never good enough to be a defender' lad. Lets give the lad at least half a chance eh helmets.

That's the English second division, though, not the Scottish one.

I've seen a lot more of the youth teams than most and would put every penny I had on Kennedy not making it as an Everton player. Just my opinion, though.
