Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Not accurate at all...Bojan's hype stemmed from 2 things - his father & his goal tally from youth levels...In every other way he had far inferior talent to Deulofeu...Lacked the pace, aggression, confidence or dribbling of Gerard

Bojan in his early rise was a lot better than Delboy, had most european teams drooling after him. Not sure what happened to him since his early days. Delboy would be a welcome addition to our side on a full time basis. lennon, Delboy, Mirallas and Pienaar wouldnt be bad but also be a little unrealistic i guess.

Mate, dem legs is gone. for what we'd get out of him in the long term against what he would cost us I think it's a case of 'here's yer gold watch mate.'

Pep wanted Bojan to go back to the B team when he took over since it was Rijkaard that promoted him...It's believed that Krkic's refusal to heed Guardiola's advice eventually led to his sale...The only cantera player under Pep to be banished so far cry from Deulofeu who actually got to play under Pep

Deulofeu has had European teams drooling and attempting to poach him for years, something that didn't happen to Krkic

Ajax, Roma, Milan all wanted him and i think he managed to play for all three, i also believe Liverpool had enquiries too and dont forget the European Superpower STOKE CITY FC.

You denied he had more hype, then went on to give an excuse as to why he DID have lots of hype, before saying Deulofeu had better talent.

Bojan had more HYPE. For whatever reason. Bojan was dubbed 'the next Messi.

IIRC wasnt it both Bojan and Dos Santos that had just unreal hype? Then they hedged their bets on Bojan when they sold Dos Santos to..Spurs(?) who never played him.

The player to have the 2nd most hype in the last decade after Deulofeu is Samper...Bojan's hype was at a time when information was more limited and lower division matches weren't being televised very often

The most significant thing about Krkic's hype is that it served as a cautionary tale aimed at actually dialing down pressure on youth prospects and easing up on the race to be promoted to the 1st team, nevermind earn significant minutes....Which makes Deulofeu's progress all the more impressive - he had the media coverage, hype & pressure yet continually defied expectations...A reason why only the uninformed would ever compare Deulofeu to Bojan, they are miles apart in terms of play, potential & confidence

The older Dos Santos never had hype until he played for the 1st team and was moved once he began to lobby for minutes & wage increases

Barca have had a few young wingers that have appeared with promise but then faded away, including dos Santos, Krkic, Tello and Cuenca (and of course Gerard). The only one that has stuck around really is Pedro.

Mate, nobody is comparing them, just that a few years ago Bojan was the big thing, and by the way he has proved in fits and bursts at Stoke this year that there is SOMETHING there, and now it is Deulofeu. Couple years it will be Adama Traore? Who knows?

When's the election for Barca's board?

I think we hyped an off-the-cuff remark to the point of convincing ourselves we've either got the next Messi or the next C Ronaldo.

Del's not that, but he would still be very useful in our team. I miss his erratic enthusiasm.
Football might have to wait another 20 years for one of those. I'm crossing my fingers. Martinez wants it. Deulofeu wants it. It's just a question if Barca will want it.

There's no point keeping him until January to ride the bench if he's not happy. If they kept him they would have to play him and I'm not sure he's next in the pecking order even if Pedro goes so I don't think they would keep him unless injuries hit.

If it happens it will probably be a deadline day one after they at least have a look at him through pre-season.
