Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Barca have had a few young wingers that have appeared with promise but then faded away, including dos Santos, Krkic, Tello and Cuenca (and of course Gerard). The only one that has stuck around really is Pedro.

El Haddadi looks ace. Won't be, obviously, but he's the latest on the conveyor belt for jarg-swiss-americans to drool over.

As GD has struggled to even make the Sevilla squad for the second half of the season, there is no chance that Barcelona will be taking him back for next season. Will be loaned out again or more probably sold (assuming Barcelona are allowed to do so).

You wouldn't have thought so especially if he also wanting to leave. However he is a player they considered the crown jewel in their academy.

ffs Deu. if you want to come back just show it.

---do you guys really think that Roms machine gun celebration was a hint of some sort?????????????

Mate, nobody is comparing them, just that a few years ago Bojan was the big thing, and by the way he has proved in fits and bursts at Stoke this year that there is SOMETHING there, and now it is Deulofeu. Couple years it will be Adama Traore? Who knows?

Not being good enough for Barcelona doesn't preclude you from still being a class footballer

I feel for Bojan actually, it's not all his own doing but there was a certainly a part of it that was the result of the pressure placed upon him at a young age and coming after Messi...The bar was unrealistically raised at the time, the world started to take notice of Barcelona's youth players and it was hyped to be a conveyor belt of Messi-esque talent, one after another

Still, he's unnecessarily bitter which understandably rubs a lot of fans wrong but the truth in the end was that he simply wasn't good enough for Barcelona's first team...Happy Stoke are creating their own little refuge for Barcelona players who couldn't succeed at the club...Muniesa in particular is a great kid, couldn't be happier for him - he too had to live with the burden of the Puyol comparisons...Even read Roberto linked to Stoke

Adama, on the other hand, with a proper board will not be loaning him out but again we'll see after the elections in late July

They did, even throw in Jeffren, Nolito & Soriano...Cuenca sadly went the way of Afellay in terms of repeated injuries but Isaac actually played well with the first team before the injuries became a problem...I blame this board for Tello as well...If Laporta or a cantera focused board were in power, Tello would be valued at the club

I'm beginning to wish we hired Hughes. He's doing a better job than Martinez in that and other areas. Ex player for us too although didn't exactly do too well.
