I think one thing is over looked ..
lukaku deulofeu barkley stones ... they are in a group of highly rated european youngsters .they could have chosen to play elsewhere , but they chose to come or stay at Everton.

one of them choosing us is great news , 2 is awesome news , 4 is taking the p@#s.
teams should envy us with that quartet.

After the 2004/2005 season we had just finished 4th. Many of us hoped for some new exciting players to push us on and get us past the champions league qualifying rounds. A winger/creative player was up there as many people's number one priority.

We signed Simon Davies for 3.5m.

10 years later we're on the brink of signing a wonderkid from Barcelona for a reported 3m. Half a million less than what we paid for the Welsh maestro. Deulofeu scored 4 goals in his one season at Everton. Davies scored 1 in two seasons.

People are complaining.

He played regularly for us and we score 70 odd points.
Barcelona have 3 of the best forwards in world football.
Sevilla won the Europa league and the player who kept him out was then bought by Barcelona.

That was his first two seasons yet has still scored 7 goals and registered over 10 assists in those limited minutes plus he's only 21.

Just another McGeady. Look everyone accepts he's not the finished article so you don't need to be contrary on the chance you will be proved right later. We all accept its not a sure thing. But at this stage it's exciting so just enjoy it. We don't get too many of these kinds of transfers.

All 4 of them will be playing for different teams in 18 months time. Barkley would of gone this summer had he had a somewhat decent season. You know it, I know it and everyone knows it.

Deulofeu didn't come through our youth system though so for him its more like - Fabregas, Guardiola, Busquets, Puyol, Iniesta, Xavi, Messi, Mikel Arteta!

They're comparable in the fact you were probably staining your pants over their potential too.

It doesn't matter anyway. As soon as he does show a glimmer of being somewhat decent, he'll be wrapped up nicely and boxed off back to Barca.

Cadamateri I liked but didnt think was great. The others were ok if not exciting.
jeffers really was the next big thing . (Turned out it was rooney , but you overlooked him completely to suit your agenda)
but rodwell in my opinion was the biggest hope. I genuinely beleive if he stayed he would be a 30 million player by now. Its a real damn shame he hasnt kicked on.
