You're too cynical. He has followed us since leaving, tweeting about our games long before he started having trouble with Emery plus he wrote a lovely letter to us when he left.

He loves the club and the fans as well as Martinez.

People are sometimes too cynical. I personally think it's lovely to see in this day and age.

But I also do agree he needs to be given time.

We have a nightmare of a start and the team will need all the support they can get but luckily in the big games that's where our fans are fantastic.

When Deulofeu is officially unveiled as an Everton player next month and gives his first interview, he will be asked what convinced him to snub the others and join Everton.

Martinez will be a big part of his answer.

In fairness everyone rated him after his 1st season. I suppose when you have the likes of Naismith and McGeady responsible for unlocking doors there's only so much a coach can do with out totally changing the way he wants to play football. He was always shouting quicker, quicker on the touch line but the players need to have the quality.

He definitely has the ability and I for one would love Martinez to focus on that aspect of his game even more so than tracking back.
