Depends how the wingers are deployed, mate.

Martinez sees them as part of the forward line and expects the guys in the middle of the park to do the defensive cover so we can leave at least 1 of the wingers further up the pitch with Lukaku for a possible counter attack.

Depends what you define as following him?

I can't watch many La Liga matches but usually tracked how he'd do each weekend and posted video of his performances here if I could find it. That and the twitter stalking of course

Poor lad went through a really miserable spell and I genuinely think that the messages of support from Evertonians he got during that time made a difference on how he felt about returning - nowhere near the effect of Martinez as coach but every little helps.

The only scenario where I could envision Deulofeu going back out on loan (Because he will not be sold) is in January, should he fail to impress or Adama/Munir proves to be more effective...Gerard will get ample opportunities to show his qualities and despite how boastful it may sound, he has exceeded expectations at every stage of his career...So I am confident he will become a regular rotation player for Barcelona

I agree though that, when fully fit and cleared to play, Lucho will play Neymar-Suarez-Messi as the attacking trident to start most matches but Pedro & Deulofeu will see a lot of minutes too

I haven't professed to be 100% accurate with my predictions as I've only given my opinions but as far as Gerard is concerned and my time as a member in the forum, my assessments have been pretty valid

It would have to be deemed in the best interest to all parties if it was ever going to occur. It would have to be one of:

- Sevilla do not want him and decide to release him from his loan,
- Sevilla 'agree' for his return to Barca, and in turn they would receive some financial gratuity in compensation.
- Barcelona have some form of option to cancel the deal, which again would most probably include some financial compensation to Sevilla.

I doubt the first would ever happen, as if Sevilla sensed Barcelona's interest to sell then I would sure they'd move to the second option.

Any cost would obviously be put onto us. If it is the latter option, again I am sure any cost would be put onto us.

Based on all this, £8m in January seems naive to stupid.

I would expect any possibly move will occur in the summer when expenses for all are lower.

Half the season has gone and ofcourse Emery would say that.

I feared that Deulofeu obviously wouldn't get into the barca team but also not into the Sevilla team.

He needs to be at a club which rates and owns him, not one that has no real interest in his development and lets be honest it's looking very unlikely he'll ever be Barca standard. He should look at Bojan and not make the mistake of staying till he's 24.

My impression is that they're bringing him along slowly and, often, playing him out of position...Sevilla's tactics have been odd but Emery et al seem to be calm about his immediate future

New elections for Barcelona will have an impact on what happens to Deulofeu as will how the club addresses the transfer ban...But I think whomever looks to take over for Bartomeu/Rosell will have to reach back out to several key people (Cruyff, in particular) and that includes Deulofeu & his reps
