Why not spend ths £10mil on a 21 year old who could turn out to be a much better player.

Nobody is advocating that. They want a £10m established player who will come in and make a big impact rather than another £5m player who might turn out to be as good as the player we could've signed for £10m.

Yes, we have Baines and Jagielka who wont be moving for the next few seasons.

Also the others like Barry, Osman,Hibbert, Howard etc (too many to list) for the next twelve months.

I think I misunderstood you there pal. I thought you were saying players age doesn't matter at all. Of course, you need a good balance in any team. Even the class of '92 had the likes of Pallister, Robson, Irwin, Schmeichel and Bruce to ease them in

if they're quality now and can improve in the future sure. but we don't need to spend 10m on just potential. we already have a ton of potential (and inconsistency) with Ross, Rom, and Del.

I think anyone colemans age or younger makes sense, at the moment we have a large amount of players who are all heading out to pasture at the same age. Need to have 5+ years of a consistent group.

@Zatara it's just part and parcel of supporting Everton mate

We always do this with our young prospects

Either they're super duper amazing or crap and not good enough

There's no middle ground

This is why players like Shane Duffy slip through the cracks

Young players aren't allowed to be young players. They have to ready right away or it's to the reject bin with them after two games

Our support isn't alone in regards to this, but we're by far one of the worst for it
