Gerard Deulofeu

Why is he playing a bit part role these days, with Cleverly shoehorned into the line up no matter what?
He looked very tired around the Christmas break and he got rested for Lennon who has performed superbly.

I know people keep on saying that we should be playing Lennon on side and Deulofeu the other but not convinced that either player is that great on the left - Deulofeu rarely played there in his first spell for us and one game that he did was S'ton away where he was dreadful. He was meant to have played there in the Barcelona youth team but almost always plays RW for his U21 Spanish team which suggests that they at least think that is his best position.

Now he is fully rested it is probably worth giving a try again however.

always remember lennon playing on the left quite a bit for tottenham particularly under redknapp, he always impressed me there, i agree deulofeu has to be on the right rather than the left, mainly so he can whip them crosses in.
i'd try lennon on the left myself.

Ive advocated playing Lennon on the left a couple of times & been shot down. To be fair the people against it had good points but delefou's ability to play the early ball or cross will be hampered on the left remember his early balls to lukaku have created the highest number of our goals.

Lennon against Stoke popped up on the left a number of times, on one particular occasion he made mugs of 2 Stoke defenders can't recall who but it was class & we almost scored.

I'd like to see it again would help Baines too as he is struggling a little physically & Lennon could also drift inside which he has proved to be particularly adept at on numerous occasions this season.

I thought Lennon had half a brain & was all about pace how nice it is too be completely wrong fantastic player most suprised by his ball retention.

Must confess to not really rating Lennon much at Spurs so can't recall him on the left - do remember he used to make a mug of Evra on the right almost every time they played United though!

Think Lennon also did some work on the left/central when were down to 10 men versus West Ham, agree he is the one most likely to be moved across if we try it.

Like you really enjoying being completely wrong about him - his obvious joy at being at the club alone puts a smile on my face. Like the rest of the team he seemed lethargic against Arsenal, hopefully the two week break will mean he's running around like a perpetual motion machine again for Utd!

......there's a picture of him and Sergi Roberto in this morning BBC gossip column after they had lunch together. I'm sure somebody can upload but I'd love a transcript of what they'd talked about.
