I don't think we need to worry too much about the buyback... Let's be honest, even if he was our stand out player consistently this season, that doesn't mean he'd get into the Barca side. Like others have said, they recently sold Sanchez and Pedro who are better players than him currently.

He doesn't need to get in their side.... All he has to do is be worth 20m+ then they will excersise it , pay 7-8m and sell him to someone else for 20m+

Assuming Del is happy to be sold to Barca only to be forwarded on again. If they were to do that, they'd either have to sell him within the same transfer window to keep his value up, or play him until the next one.

Toby alderweild had the same Clause.... They realised he was worth more than the 6.9m saints had agreed ... So they excersised the clause and sold him for more.... If he's a 15-20m player in two years... They can buy him for 8m and then just sell him and make 12m+ .. And let's be honest.... He could be worth 20m by the end of this season ... And they would only need to pay 6m to take him back

Not true - Aldereiweld's contract was a very different situation. Saints could buy him for 6.9m UNLESS Atletico paid £1.5m to deactivate that part of the contract. We don't have anything like that with Barca - they just have fixed prices that we have pre-agreed to in the contract should they want to buy him. Everything else remains the same - the player has to agree to the move, etc.

They basically pay 9m euro to do the same

Nobody here will know the exact details IMO.... But do you think braca would let one of the best youngsters leave for 4m without being able to buy him back whenever they want... ? The deal is a glorified loan... I want him to stay forever... But he's worth 10-15m now... And was when we bought him

Because Barca obviously care loads about making a (by their standards) minor profit on a player

Are you concerned that Barca will trigger the buy back to return to play there or worried they will use it to make a profit on him by player trading?

The former is unlikely imo under their current manager pretty much regardless of how much Deulofeu improves, Enrique didn't seem to like his style and there are several other Masia products he seemed to favour if he wants to bring through an academy player.

As for the second, don't think Barcelona have any history of doing it and the move would still have to be one that the player agreed to. After his miserable year at Sevilla how likely is Gerard to move next summer if he is getting playing time here and doing well to risk his development with a new team/manager or even country?

Playing crosses into Lukaku is a good way to win games

Who'd've thunk it?

Why have we not been unleashing Del more prior to this?
He took a while to adapt to the physicality of the league on the loan and he hardly got any game time for Sevilla from February onwards, add in his preseason hamstring injury and can understand why he has been eased in slowly.

Even as recently as the last international break for the Spanish U21s he was dead on his feet at 70 mins and that was against a very defensive Estonia.
