Its feast or famine with this lad. If he does something good then he goes on from there. It just never happened for him yesterday.

The biggest compliment he can take from yesterday is that a team supposedly challenging for top 7 set up to totally do a number on him.

Moreno playing at left wing back was simply to give them the extra security of knowing if he was skinned then there were 3 centre backs all within the box to cover. Additionally it was to crowd out Lukaku in the event Deu got one of his killer crosses in.

So some of the bits he did didn't come off? So what? He's still a prospect and he still annihilated WBA. The next step is to learn how to do it regardless of opposition which will come purely from experience.

Love the lad. Think he's our best player, talent wise.

Nice to see two goals in a week coming from his early cross.Seems he's realised you don't always have to beat your man.

His sole contribution (of any worth) in the last 2 matches has been putting in brilliant crosses from the right wing, which have brought goals that have won matches. He has to expect more from himself than just that .. I'd like to see more energy, more physicality ... and is it me or has he lost pace / that initial burst of acceleration ?

C'mon Gerry lad start investing in yourself, train hard, hit the gym with vengeance & show the World what you are truly capable of.

If we played two wingers and a midfielder who could find Del early then he'd be a lot better in these types of games. Instead he's often receiving a slow ball standing still and he's up against a winger the opposition full back and a holding midfield player. What happened against West Brom was Gibson switched play quickly putting Deulofeu in on the run one on one v the full back. We did this once on Sunday and our goal came from it. For me, like Lukaku's ineffectiveness at times, this is another one to put at the door of Barry and McCarthy. Lennon came on after and barely touched the ball. McCarthy kept playing the easy simple late flat ball to the full back rather than sweeping it out first time in front of Lennon. The pace of the game is just too slow with our midfield which is why you can play who you want on the wing and upfront and it will barely make a difference. It's also the reason why we didn't beat a shambolic Liverpool side at home.

Very poor yesterday. Gave the ball away numerous times and it appeared one of those days where he couldn't control a bag of cement. Should of been subbed at Half time in all honesty. Was given the instructions to hug the touchline to stretch their back line but he just couldn't get it going.

He often put early crosses in the last time he was here as well.

The big difference now is Lukaku is at last looking the real deal and he is getting himself into positions to capitalise on Gerald's sterling work.

There Is a fine margin between a winger's crosses looking wasteful and him making lots of "assists".

And that margin is defined by the predatory instincts and positional play of the strikers.

Hopefully the more they play together the better in-tune they'll become.I think Barkley is benefiting from players finding more space and making better runs this season over last
