Gerard Deulofeu

I just re-watched it and he wasn't awful. He was maybe the only player that was trying to make things happen. He is a dangerous buggar and that is enough for me.
I want him to be a success, but he needs to stop hitting the first man every time he crosses it. Plus he gave the ball away a hell of a lot. We will see, not convinced me yet, though.

But he is a winger and they will lose the ball more often than most if they take on players. Its just the once or twice getting past his player that can possibly produce a goal. He gave the ball away not too much but also did some good passes across field that were not made the most off. Del offers pace and the unknown and I would rather have that than someone who plays the safe undamaging option. He is the kind of player that can look a chump one minute but could make something happen the next, he will never be a 100% completed passes nor 100% successful dribbles...who is.

Even when he has a seemingly off game, he still creates 2 or 3 genuine goalscoring chances.

For that reason alone I'd have him in the starting XI whenever possible. He'll only improve with more game time and players who can create chances are in short supply in our team.

Thought he was the best player on the pitch yesterday especially in the second half. He needs to stop whinging tho when something doesnt go his way. And the diving? Nope, not having that. He could have kept going on one of them and been through on goal if he didnt dive.

Cheers statto, it's my opinion. Hope he comes good, from yesterday's performance, did not convince me. I hope your not counting the assists in the league cup, in those stats.

As frustrating as he is sometimes, he is the most creative outlet we have, so I think he has to play. Played a couple of brilliant low passes across the pitch to switch the play yesterday as well, so its not just the crossing. Him on the right, Mirallas on the left please.

I'd love to see that. Deulofeu creates and Kev is arguably the best finisher at the club.

I understand balance etc and defensive cover but surely it's worth a go against "lesser" teams. Or perhaps we could drop Ross back a bit (where I think he'd excel) and play a 4-3-3?

It just seems odd to me that Deulofeu creates so much but we only have Rom in the box (most of the time...) to finish. Most of the chances Gerry creates are wasted.
