I think you've failed to see the fact had Lampard's effort had stood England without a doubt would've played the more cautious approach. If that wasn't the case, JT and the rest of the defense would not have been caught flapping 70 yards up the pitch leaving the midfield to fill in.

Give it up, mate. We weren't good enough, end of.

I think you fail to see that the defence was a disaster in the first goal and JT and the rest were where they were supposed to be but were still caught flapping

It's easy to call this England team out for lacking passion and commitment but the reality is they lack the technical skill and brains to be a truly great team at this level, and that's been the case for a long, long time. When they aren't around there foreign buddies at club level they are shown up for what they are. As Harry Redknapp said, England needs to start developing players like Bastian Schweinsteiger and Mesut Ozil, and at the moment, they aren't.

Capello has his faults, no question about it, but he's working with a limited bunch and the sad thing is alot of English fans and the media would have you believe these are far better footballers than they actually are. Clive Tyldesley comparing England to Spain during a recent game and Alan Shearer, Lee Dixon and Alan Hansen writing Germany off as an average team springs to mind.

England are simply reaching there potential, this stage, possibly the odd quarter final here and there is all I see.

For me Capello on £6million a year HAS to go.

Hodgeson for cert. Knows how to spot develop players and has international experience and he's english.

Some of the players we brought over were frankly not good enough.

Sick of these players only being interested in money and or their endorsements.

Come on, it was for sure important, but overall skills for modern football and right tactical approach was much more important.

There is no England CB who can pass and there is no deep lying playmaker who can pass too. English players only know 1 tempo of the game, 100 mph tempo. Etc...

Martin O'Neill :). His teams are struggling to control things in EPL, he will get murdered playing on level like this.

Yeah,true that.

I am watching this wc as a neutral but english game always annoys me. It's so obvious what they're doing wrong but they repeat the feat.

All eyes on the Dutch now,cos they look solid and also Johnny's the only everton player left to be watched

Just watched those last two German goals again. Glen Johnson...watch this fcuking idiot's positioning. It's almost a piece of art in lack of concentration. The 4th goal he's jogging back in the German half...when the ball gets put in the English net by Mueller!!

It's staggering anyone thinks he's international class. I know all the defence were poor today, but if you have someone like him with so much ill discipline it must be hard to think and act like a unit. He's a lanky right sided midfielder who found his level at Portsmouth.

Cant believe i actually agree with the Damon. Best man for the job is Martin O'neill. you might not like how he does things, but he gets teams playing as a team.

Nah he's hit and rush.

Fulham at Goodison this season, with their reserves. Playing football and having a shape.

All young players. Thats what we need.

And Hodgeson's a cool head too.

Johnson is absolutely gash. £17 million and £150,000 a week - what a joke.

And Rooney... frankly why did he even go to the World Cup? And some of the other gash we've had to put up with.

I wasn't talking about the first German goal or even their second mate... Read the post correctly and then come back when you've got the appropriate..
