International management is all about adapting. Realising a system isn't working, and finding a new one that will. Not rigidly sticking to a 4-4-2 and playing players out of position. Capello will never make a good international manager, because he's far too stubborn.

Yes. After 20 minutes it should have changed.

It is shocking there was nothing done to stop Germany over running the midfield. It was crying out for a formation change to crowd out the midfield.

Martin O'Neill is exactly the same though.

Well it has probably been said before but England were poor in every game they played. The only England to come out with any credit IMO is James. Rooney for me was the worst of the England players, when I think back how he was with us before legging off, he again IMO does not seem to have developed into the World Class player the media talk about.

If we are looking to the Eoros in 2 years time then we need to now be looking at our younger players and saying tara to most that went to SA.

BTW for Barry and Milner were nowwhere as good as their price tag suggests.

England needs an English manager that understands the game. I know we had McLaren as England coach last time and he failed to qualify for the euro’s but he was never the right man for the job. Now we have 2 really good choices in Roy Hodgson and Harry Redknapp. I don’t personally think they choose Harry because of his past.
England’s destiny was decided the second Terry decided to drop his pants in front of Wayne Bridges ex.

He's a man manager. He would get that team playing as a team, not a group of individuals.
Still, it would be a [Poor language removed] team, playing football exactly the same, outdated way.

Regarding Capello changing formation - I would love to see fans and pundits reaction, if he would have the guts to bring additional midfielder and drop Defoe, to play 4-5-1, when losing 2-0 or 2:1. He would be murdered.

Lampard's shot didn't even go in by the way

Harry Wobblyhead as England manager? Two days before the Euro Championships getting raided by Inland Revenue.

Make it Happen!

And? We need a manager who can do brave things that will get him stick rather sticking with the safe option that isn't working.

I was screaming at him to do just that, to be honest. I hate the idea that 4-5-1 is automatically more defensive than 4-4-2. With the right players it isn't.

I am probably the biggest fan of 4-5-1 here, so of course I absolutely agree.
But still - Capello would have slaughtered for doing something like this.
Just like Moyes is criticised for playing defensive 4-5-1 (even if it's not defensive), especially at Goodison Park.
