This same old inquest will be going on in 4, 8, 12 years time.

When England accept the height of their ambitions being the quarter finals of the Earth Goblet then it will be easier.
Instead you have all the deluded bells thinking they're gonna win it.

We called this scenario right the start and had to face a typical barrage of abuse from the English for it.

I think were owed an apology.

Where is the fun in that ;P

Read this forum over the past month, all the proof you need.

Nothing you have said has changed my view that England is the greatest Nation in the World.

British colonization of the Americas (including colonization sponsored by the Kingdom of England before the 1707 Acts of Union created the Kingdom of Great Britain) began in the late 16th century and reached its peak when colonies had been established throughout the Americas. The British were one of the most important colonizers of the Americas, and their American empire came to rival the Spanish American colonies in military and economic might.

This British colonization caused dramatic upheaval among the indigenous civilizations in the Americas, both directly through British military force and indirectly through cultural disruption and introduced diseases. Many of the indigenous societies had developed a warrior class and a long history of warfare to such an extent that they were able to temporarily withstand the technologically superior British force as seen in the King Philip's War, French-Indian War, Pontiac's Rebellion, and countless raids against unprotected and isolated settlements. The rapidity, silence, and ferocity of their war parties proved disastrous against the colonial-style of waging war. It is said that an Iroquois warrior could be self-sufficient in the forest for months at a time eating only grounded corn, maple sap, and whatever the land provided.

I think that settles it.

England missed the little water carrier Hargreaves. He made the puddings look respectable in 2006.

Holland this tournament are uninspiring, but they have players like Van Bommel and De Jong who do a no frills job and give them shape. That's why they're still rolling on and England are at Heathrow.

Indeed, asking a midfield plodder like Gareth Barry to do a 'pressing' job is a waste of time really, especially in a 4-4-2 alongside players like Gerrard and to a lesser extent Lampard. But I doubt Hargreaves will ever recover from his recent injury crisis, England will have to look elswhere for that type of player.

It'd be fine in a 4-5-1, he'd probably get away with it, but as a centre midfielder in a 4-4-2 you've got far more roles to occupy.

It was comical watching Gerrard, in my eyes, an excellent CM, playing Left Wing, while Barry, a glorified LB, played the CM holding role.

But hey Capello is a great Manager.............................................

There's a dearth of English talent with that type of quality, so how Scott Parker never got a look in is beyond me. Maybe Capello thought he was a red card waiting to happen. He is a bit prone to the red mist like.

International management is all about adapting. Realising a system isn't working, and finding a new one that will. Not rigidly sticking to a 4-4-2 and playing players out of position. Capello will never make a good international manager, because he's far too stubborn.

They are, deluded bells, the Newcastle of international soccer. It's been proven.

You calling me a Geordie, McChico?!

Just for the record I can't remember anyone saying we would win this world cup. Of course we hoped we would. I'm sure you hoped Scotland would win it when you started your qualifiers. If we didn't have hope then what's the point? Hope doesn't need to be realistic.

I hope just as you do that everton win the league and cup next year. You gonna crucify me for saying that now?
