Get Rooney before United

But for the millionth time…..Rooney only left at that time because the club wanted to sell him.

It’s like shouting into an empty vessel on here at times.
Rooney left to play for the best manager in the world, win trophies and triple his pay.
Did you not see him celebrate at Goodison when he scored for Manchester United?

The majority of time he was a passenger against us...I'm more surprised he wasn't a bigger knobhead towards us than he was, as his game was all about the aggro and we gave him plenty of it.

Fantastic young footballer and, by the club being in a g'damn state, we balls'd it up yet again and lost the best player of a generation. What a 'kin ride it would have been, too.

Yes, I’d of done the same the way the club treated him.
The club had to sell him. We could've been in turmoil had we not sold him. He understood that. One decision from one man is apparently enough kill all the love you've had for a club and kiss the badge in front of supporters who had nothing to do with that decision?

He's not a great guy. Says a lot about you that you'd do the same.

Look at the way Phil Neville conducted himself when he played united. At least there was respect. When he scored the penno against them he refused to celebrate.

The club were touting him around and telling him they were selling him to Chelsea.

I mean you can make him look the bad guy if you want to, but I’m afraid I deal in reality.

Horrible take on a player that (even for a short time) was the most exciting player I have seen in and Everton shirt.
I just don’t get the hatrid that comes with an 18 years leaving - with the will of the club - and going on to have one of the most successful careers of anyone to come through the Everton ranks.
Internet age allows weird opinions to become mainstream.
Birmingham City fans have a completely different take on Jude Bellingham

Like most things in football it is generally pantomime hate.

If you cant "hate" Rooney as an Everton fan though then who can you hate?

This stuff used to mean something.

No they were not. Stop lying.

You do not deal in reality (in this instance anyway) you are merely believing the word of one bloke who has been proven to lie about that time in his career in the past already and stating it is fact.

He said those words so I believe him.

He clearly states that they wanted him to go to Chelsea. He wanted to go to United.

So I’m not “lying” at all.

You choose not to believe him, so In the words of Bobby Brown, “that’s your prerogative”.

Yes fair point, it's him that is lying not you. You are just stating it as fact.

I guess I just don't understand why you are taking the words of an unfaithful, granny shagging, badge kissing judas who has literally been sued for libel by an employee of the club over the transfer as gospel.

I totally get why he went on his little PR campaign to mend the relationship between himself and the club seeing as it is evidently so easy to pull the wool over peoples eyes.

If you are a father and in almost every scenario, you see phil Neville and say “listen son, don’t ever turn out like him”

Each to their own with Rooney but I don’t think we should be applying a victim status to him when he jibbed us off at 18 and just about surviving relegation. No Evertonian I know would do that, and Everton didn’t push him out like some state, he pushed himself for the move to Man Utd.
By the looks of it plenty of people would sell their nan for a chance to play for Manchester United.

What about Everton? What about us?
